Did they pull the update? I waited until the evening to click "Install" and it then said that the available updates had changed. It checked again and said "Your Mac is up to date".

has everyone updated to an older macboookpro 15' 2016 like ? how is it regarding performance and etc... ? I'm on big sur, and i don't have any problem.

This update deleted all my open safari tabs, had to restore the Safari container folder to get most of it back, was a recent backup but more than a few days old.
Restoring the -/Library/Safari does NOT work, -/Library/Containers/Safari does.

How about creating Safari tab groups? Just wondering if that is useable?

Update: I took it in and they revived it in DFU mode likean iphone. Took about 45 min, but it was the techs first time, which he warned me ahead of time, and he took the time to read the correct procedure before performing it. We discussed how he's been thinking about getting the same machine and asked me about my experience (other than the update)

I'm on a 2015 Mac as stated in my signature. Still excellent performance. Like it more than Big Sur btw.

How can I force my macbook pro to get this update? 2021 16" with M1 Max, I'm suffering from the refusal to charge until reboot issue, which is a hell of an issue, now I understand that this issue is confirmed fixed in 12.5, but even when I have the macos preview package installed (which lets me get the macOS 13 beta, which I'm not interested in), System Preferences Software Update does NOT tell me that I have 12.5 available even though it's been released for 4 days. What gives?

So far this is the closest I've gotten:

Code:
🔋19% at 22:18:28 ❯ sudo softwareupdate --list-full-installers
Finding available software
Software Update found the following full installers:
* Title: macOS Monterey, Version: 12.5, Size: 12112497KiB, Build: 21G72
* Title: macOS Monterey, Version: 12.4, Size: 11819688KiB, Build: 21F79
* Title: macOS Monterey, Version: 12.3.1, Size: 11938730KiB, Build: 21E258

Edit: OK some more progress

Code:
sudo softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer 12.5
Scanning for installer
Installing: 30.0%

Edit: This downloaded and executed an "Install macOS Monterey" Installer in Applications which just hangs upon running. Still hangs if I run it manually.

Edit: Official Software Update finally lets me update to 12.5. No doubt there is some rollout staggering taking place.

Is iCloud sync basically broken for anyone else after this update? Files are refusing to sync since the update for me.

Yes, I've noticed this as well. It is happening to me on every iOS device and not just macOS so definitely seems to be an iCloud issue.

No problem noticed. Definitely working for me. The rate of change of files in my iCloud is quite low and everything is as it should be.

Same thing happened to me just now. Briefly the 12.5 update was showing when the Software Update pane of System Preferences was first displayed. Then it went to check again and, poof, gone. Replaced with "Your Mac is up to date - macOS Monterey 12.4". So it looks like they did indeed pull the update recently.

UPDATE: 10 minutes later it showed up again. Probably the latest updates weren’t deployed onto all of Apple’s Software Update servers. There are likely many such servers situated behind a load balancer.

I have the same charging issue. Where did you see this issue is confirmed fixed in 12.5? Thanks.

Decided to go all-in and installed Monterey directly on my MBP. Everything seems to be fine, except the system now refuses to see my Logitech camera. I'm finding now that this is a known Monterey problem, but I can't implement the kludge-around because my camera has a built-in cable. Hope Apple decides this is important enough to fix at some point in the NEAR future. There were also a couple of Macports ports that failed to build (netcdf-fortran and nco), but I can live without those for now.

LATER, after steaming a bit:

Well, I think I just got lucky. I unplugged everything from the MBP including power, turned it completely off, plugged in the power, turned it back on, and reattached things one by one. Bingo, the camera is now working. Who knows what was wrong, but I'm definitely not looking this gift horse in the mouth. Good luck to everyone who's got this problem.

Any new major issues with this 12.5 update?

Could somebody point me to a list, what is new & fixed, if there is one?
(Besides the tremendous amount of these, TWO (!) that Apple announced.)

"There are no new release notes for this software update."

There is a link to the security fixes in post 110 of this thread.

I have only found 2 bugs so far: My safari favourite bookmarks were adjusted out of order - some from the bottom of the list suddenly appeared first. I reordered the list and haven't had any more bothers. Another problem that has persisted for longer is sometimes the messages app becomes unresponsive. A force close and restart of the app seems to fix it.

My iCloud account stopped syncing in January after I updated to 12.1 or 12.2. Does anyone know if that has been resolved? I am afraid to update since I seem to lose functionality with every update this year. I'm half tempted to go for 12.5 if it fixes the audio popping issue. But someone mentioned they lost their Safari Tabs, which would be a disaster for me during the workweek.

Me too. New 12.5 Update disappeared. Should I take it as an omen?
