Anyone else is having an issue with scaled resolution since upgrading? I've just upgraded, and everything appears bigger now - there's no difference between the "Default for display" and the scaled option on the far right. It makes everything way too big and uncomfortable to read/use. I've tried to restart the computer but to no avail. SwitchResX doesn't work either, any other "unconventional" resolution is badly scaled and unusable.

Did it get pulled? It's not there for me.
It was there for me yesterday, but never got around to installing it. So, I tried this morning and the download stopped soon after it began. I checked again and the update was no longer available.

No idea what happened, however.

I thought it bricked my Mac Studio for 5 minutes. My monitor blacked out. Previous updates on my machines would reboot but never totally blacked out on me for 5 minutes. I let it run and eventually it did come back with the standard progress bar and finished.

The now playing bar on the music app seems to be off, I can barely see the time anymore it's like someone cut it away..

Man, my first issue with Monterey that's ever affected me. External cameras I try to use in MS Teams show up black for everyone. Internal MBP works with no issue tho.

Edit: Internal Cam also shows up black in teams or non-safari browser based camera things. FaceTime works and Safari works without issue. Maybe we just need a chrome/edge update post 12.5 or something. :(

I played around with scaling to do a video shoot and it seemed fine to me.

I thought it bricked my Mac Studio for 5 minutes. My monitor blacked out. Previous updates on my machines would reboot but never totally blacked out on me for 5 minutes. I let it run and eventually it did come back with the standard progress bar and finished.

I watched almost all of the update (40 minutes) and it either had the Apple Logo, or a progress bar. I knew that it was good when the mouse cursor finally appeared. There were a number of reboots. Never say a black screen outside of a short transition on reboots.

Updated my Intel Mini no problem yesterday. Went to install the update on my son's M1 mini this morning and it just disappeared. It was there, I clicked install, then it gave me an error about no update selected and disappeared.

Installed on Macbook Pro 15" mid 2015 and on iMac 24" M1. No issues so far.

Hey! I have an issue with an update, unfortunately, on MBP 16" 2019: the update just doesn't load, it bricks and says that update cannot be installed and each time on the same percentage of loaded data.
Anyone has a clue what it can be?

It usually tells you and the most common problem that I've had in the past is disk space.

If it's persistent, then I do a clean install. Sometimes to an external SSD if I feel that I need to be really careful.

I've just did wipe out and made a USB flash with 12.5, but during the install the same error popped out!
I had to use the recovery install, so currently I'm on macOS Catalina :D and I have an update to 12.5 available, but during it's loading at approximately 3/4 done it says that update could not be installed the same way it did when I wanted to install it from USB!.. what the hell that could be???

I think that I'd go back to 12.4 if you need this for work purposes and then hope it gets figured out. It's not going to be a resource issue with your system and I've never had problems doing clean installs.

Update: Reboots did not solve. Full power off and unplugged everything, tried to switch around ports and stuff just because for things like External Monitors, External Cam, TB Dock, etc, and power back on from cold - everything works, all cameras work as appropriate.

So not sure what that was about.

Try installing Big Sur first, not go directly to Monterey 12.5 first. Make sure you are backed up to an external volume.

So, I've tried 3 things, not sure which of them helped:
1. In Recovery settings -> Startup Security Utility I set the 'Full Security' toggle.
2. I tried First Aid on recovery drive, there were no error, thought I gave it a try.
3. I switched the system language to English..
After I did it the download procedure started where it left and the installation went smooth, no it works fine.

Has anyone installed this on an external SSD as yet? I'm looking to upgrade my 2017 MBP from Big Sur, but I'd like to try out some of the apps I need to make sure they work before I leap.
