OMG, three finger drag seems to be fixed (MacBook Pro 13 2016, 4 thunderbolt ports). There are some slight delays here and there, but so far so good. I would say 95% as smooth as it is on previous MacBooks or all Magic Trackpads. Finally.

Early 2011 17" MacBook Pro, which is now obsolete as of 12/31/16. Ran the update, did its thing, rebooted, beeped and the thick gray bar (signifying firmware update), rebooted again...all is well.

This build also fixes a graphical boot glitch some 2011 MBP users were facing during the moment the boot switches from iGPU to dGPU (or visa versa).

I noticed throughout the beta that there were some SMC/boot changes going on and it seems this is the case with the release build on various machines.

My wife's 2010 Plastic Unibody seem to have just beeped and done a triple restart too so it's likely across the board.

My 2011 17" is all the happier for it :)

Seems to work fine. Night Shift fixes the only big problem of f.lux: full screen video playback color bugs. So it looks like it is safe to uninstall f.lux and start using Night Shift. Other than that, haven't noticed anything.

They're being really, really careful with the APFS on macOS! So much can go wrong compared to iOS, which is completely locked down. You can have lots of different partitions on a Mac, different boot drives, different structures, Time Machine backups... honestly they can't be too careful with testing it. There's an awful lot that can go wrong!

That said, I too am eagerly awaiting APFS on Sierra. :D

I'll do a clean install when they release APFS on OS X. Just in case!

I was wondering what that was, but it works. We're in the same boat now...obsolete laptops.

My guess is that APFS on OS X is waiting for Case-insensitivity to be finished up. Since iOS doesn't use a case-insensitive file system it was able to ship early.

I hope not. I would really like the switch to APFS to eliminate case-insensitivity in filesystems on all Apple platforms. Case sensitivity for the win!!! ;-)

They'll have to prise the 17" from my cold dead hands before I give it up. Wonderful machine and worth doing the Bluetooth hack to as well for the handoff/watch unlock features.

I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of Nightshift but I can always use a custom colour profile and schedule it with a script if need be.

Night Shift uses Metal, so it works only on Macs with graphic cards supported by Metal.
well i have a metal capable card in my machine, they must be restricting it via model IDs. wonder if someone will come up with a tool to enable it. can go back to using flux but wouldn't mind trying out Night Shift

oh crap i've realised i've barely got any room on my 2016 macbook pro...doubt i will be able to download. tried removing plenty but not much space

Save yourself some time and try to install in place first.
I have never reinstalled OS X/ MacOs, started with 10.0b(Yup, more than 15 years ago), there were some bugs but I fixed them myself /cleared after a reboot-after some time or resolved after another Update.

Maybe you're right but the file system changes during the Linux years left me a bit over cautious...

The download was about 1.5 GB for me, had just over 9 GB left on my disk, wouldn't install, after deleting another half a Gig it installed, but I was on the last beta before this one so you might even need more space.

No need to worry as long as you make a backup just before you install.

After installing Mac OS 10.12.4, my DXT Mouse disconnects after clicking any mouse button. I can re-establish the connection by removing, and re-inserting the USB dongle, but any click disables it again.

have to try it tomorrow but doubt i will sadly :( will see how much space is available after clearing some more. I've already had to disable podcasts/music and photos

Downloaded (1.56GB) and installed in about 20 minutes on my 2016 MacBook, no issues at all.

Quite impressed with Night Shift - just enabled it (it's 20:15 here) and it has made the display noticeably "warmer" now it's the evening.

Night shift works mighty fine on my 2014 MBP. On Mac Mini 2011 w/ LED Cinema Display 24", not so much.

Also noticed a small thing which might've been there for ages, it's just one of those things you never check. I'm fairly certain I checked El Capitan, but maybe I never bothered with Sierra.
Anyway, it used to be that you could move menu bar icons around by holding down Command while click-dragging the icons, but it only worked on Apple's proprietary stuff like volume, wifi etc - not third party stuff. Now you can rearrange those as well. Yay.

Don't care at all about night shift. Do care about bug fixes especially in safari and custom keyboard shortcuts hopefully those are packed in there

I was skeptical at first but night shift really helps me get to sleep at night. It's done wonders for me since it came out on iOS.

I had the same thing. Three reboots in total and a thick gray bar about halfway the install process.

Works for me. It even seems to open faster than before.

It's strange. It also shows a red badge on the app icon and i don't understand what's going on...
