..and apple highlights:

• Adds Siri support for cricket sports scores and statistics for Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council

in a SYSTEM update.. A SYSTEM update?? This is what they focus on and bulletpoints second. I am pretty sure if you are interrested in crickets etc and sports in general, you can get your info many other places, and it is NOT an System update priority to include. And Siri was a non functional gimic already. Apple has just lost the mojo so bad for years now, I just cry.

But hey I am now updating my old imac anyways, hoping for a faster Finder. I wish that was also a priority for apple.

That makes my eyes go all blurry. I doubt it will be relaxing for me.... at all..
Uh, now i know exactly what you mean :-D I dont know why this Feature or Flux are so popular, this is really aweful. Not bad for me on the iPhone although i cant tell if it "works" but on a screen this big - no way. 15 inch here btw.

Update went smoothly. I did notice the multiple boots. Probably firmware update??? As an older guy with presbyopia (old guy eyesight, needs progressive lenses) I've noticed that a lot of text becomes difficult to read with nightshift activated. The text seems to be less distinctive against the nightshift color.

Exact same here! I see that it's doing something during login (progression bar), but it never reaches desktop and goes dark... I even did a refresh install to no avail... Pretty pissed at this point...

I gave in and did CMD-R then Reinstalled. Took a while but thankfully all my data was still there when I logged in.

Did you manage to resolve the problem?

Did CMD-R and chose Reinstall macOS. Took a while for it to download and reinstall but afterwards I was able to log in and all my data was there. Not very impressed by Apple. This year I've had a bricked iPhone update and a bricked macOS update. I hope I was just unlucky and apples software quality control isn't dropping - but under Tim Cook I wouldn't be surprised.

Has PDFKit been fixed or is it still full of bugs?

I have found conflicting reports from developers, some claim its been fixed and others say it still has many bugs...

There's a color temperature [sic] option in Display settings for Night Shift. Adjusting that could help.
I'm not sure why you used "sic" in your post. Color is measured by temperature, in degrees Kelvin.

Early 2011 17" MacBook Pro, which is now obsolete as of 12/31/16. Ran the update, did its thing, rebooted, beeped and the thick gray bar (signifying firmware update), rebooted again...all is well.

I'm assuming Night **** doesn't work on your Early 2011. It doesn't on mine. I didn't need to update my firmware probably because Apple replaced all the parts except SSD and Memory in December.

The 10.12.4 update would have automatically updated the firmware without intervention, and Night Shift requires a 2012 or newer Mac to work.

Well, I can no longer four-finger swipe between fullscreen apps on my MacBook Pro. Good job, Apple. There goes my entire workflow.

Three finger swiping between screens (fullscreen and otherwise) works fine for me. I changed it to four-finger swiping to test and that works too.

Obvious thing to ask (sorry) but has the setting somehow become unchecked?

Upgraded to 10.12.4 2 days back. Yesterday I had the screen freeze and upon restart, the kernel panic.

The system wouldn't boot into safe mode so tried resetting PRAM etc. Apple got me to re-install the Mac OS X. It worked yesterday but again this morning I got the kernel panic. So obviously re-install won't fix it again.

Apple suggested the next step is to wipe off the hard disk and rebuild everything but it's too time-consuming. Please find attached the screenshot of the kernel panic. Is anybody else having the same issue after the upgrade to 10.12.4?

In the backtrace a kext comes up everytime - com.oracle.kext.OVDCUSB* ... what is this? I searched for it when I re-installed OS X yesterday but couldn't find it on the filesystem.

I have 15" MBP Late 2016, 2.9GHz, 460, 2TB, 16GB model.

it took a min or two, but after rebooting, resetting PRAM (if that does anything), and unchecking and rechecking options under the trackpad in system preferences, i got it working again.

Immediately following the update, my wired extended keyboard is no longer recognised on my 5K iMac. Have tried several reboots and all of the USB ports to no joy. Am gonna pick up a replacement today but at the moment it's rendered my machine unusable as it's the only keyboard I have.

I've read about issues with modifier keys elsewhere but wondered if this was unique?

Been using f.lux for ages now, so can't wait to see how a native Night Shift mode compares to it.

Well i have lost the capacity of connect my macbook pro in shellmode with my LG 34UM95-P external monitor, this with the apple usb-c multiport dongle (with hdmi). Now I get a black screen, and when tried to wake up my mac opening the lid, nothing, only a black screen - I have to reboot !!

Note: I have already filled a bug report in https://bugreport.apple.com

I tried that. Even after dragging it all the way to the right it's not warm enough for me.
Try Flux then, it's a lot warmer - to the point of it getting as orange as possible - plus, it's where Apple stole the idea from anyhow, so they've done a better job.

New keyboard all good. Old one still dead
Either the update process fried it or it's a strange coincidence
