I just upgraded, and immediately did another backup after doing so. When my computer (Late 2016 MBP) fell asleep, the disks were improperly ejected. This seems pretty bad, as it could potentially cause data loss.

2015 17" MacBook pro safari is v11.0
2012 27" iMac safari is 10.1.2

10.12.6 is same build number on both

I plan to perform a clean install of 10.12.6 in order to stay for a while on Sierra (High Sierra makes my Mac very hot and drains both RAM and battery), so this is my question: How do I erase and install with a USB installer?

I know how to make a bootable installer, the problem is that, whereas in my old MacBook Pro 2010 booting from the USB and erasing/formatting the drive was pretty straight forward and easy, in this new MacBooks (2015) I almost screwed the boot sector, and I honestly don't know how to erase the SSD and install there the OS.

Sorry for the Off Topic but... What do I have to erase? The Macintosh HD logic partition? Or the whole PCI Apple SSD?

Is it better to boot from the recovery partition and do it from there?
Thank you.
[doublepost=1500491874][/doublepost]You will find recovery drive is 10.12 mine was

No updates showing for my in Software Updates, I've had this before.
Don't particularly want to download over 5GB from the App Store unless I have to...

Edit: Trying the Combo update.

Edit #2: All done, thanks for the link!

"no bug fixes"? That means macOS Sierra is bug-free, or they've given up?

They actually never cared. That's why bugs have been allowed to persist since Yosemite and Craig Federighi has been busy making funny videos for keynotes and giving himself a gold medal for taking the macOS to a "higher level".

I downloaded updates for my MBP, iPhone, and AppleTV. For whatever reason, I now can't open the App store on any of the three devices. On my iPhone and MBP, everything else seems to work fine. On the Apple TV, most apps seem to work (including Playstation Vue), although a few don't open/work. For the most part, the non-functioning apps are Apple owned.

Just tried the App Store on my MacBook and it's fine.

Grrrr, the sleep to wake issue with the LG ultra fine displays and my MBPtb or 2017 iMac still isn't fixed.

Safari 11 will be released for both Sierra 10.12 and El Capitan 10.11 most likely around the Golden Master release of High Sierra 10.13
https://developer.apple.com/library...WhatsNewInSafari/Safari_11_0/Safari_11_0.html

It will not be released for Yosemite 10.10 which will halt at Safari 10.

Upon the release of High Sierra 10.13, Yosemite 10.10 will be classified as obsolete.

I am currently running Safari 11 on Sierra 10.12 via the Developer seed.

It can also obtained through the Safari Technology Preview channel for El Capitan 10.11 and Sierra 10.12

This is no such bug. Fix your busted system.
No need to be rude.

Oh, i didnt think the beta software would not be overwritten. Learn somethin new.
Thank You!
Usually it will not install an older version over a newer one. For example if you are running Safari 11 from the Developer Seed it shouldn't overwrite it with a version of Safari 10.
Should you run in to issues installing Safari 11 on El Capitan 10.11 or Sierra 10.12 head over to the Safari Technology Preview Channel

There were updates to Safari for El Capitan and Yosemite released today. That's what the person you're replying to was asking for.
