I updated all 3 apps and then found an iMovie update afterwards. I ran some maintenance scripts after installation because things were quite slow. My font library was broken and I fixed that and it seems to be fine now. Certainly not the best update for something apparenlty so minor.

Yeah - it's finally back & I just installed it. Version 10.12.6 (16G29). Is that the same as before?
Yeah same build maybe just slightly changed but then othets would have another build so doubt it not sure why it wasnt showing

Certain people in this thread: if you just publicly lost the plot over CDN glitches and one guy not being able to start Photos, you might want to take a step back and evaluate your internet usage.

Looks like the update gave my laptop a seizure. The internal display as well as the two external LG5K displays are all just flickering various colors. Wonder if I should power cycle it or wait it out.

EDIT: Unplugged both 5Ks and the update continued. Once it completed, I plugged them back in and everything is back to normal. Been mostly bug free otherwise. Hoping this update fixes an issue where one of my 5Ks would be completely dimmed down when they're both plugged in. Other then that, I've been having great performance with my 2016MBP. The only caveat being that some USB-C devices can cause my machine to hang (specifically a TrippLite USB dongle that has HDMI/Ethernet/USBA and power pass-thru).

Looks like the current combo update package has slightly different information. It still says "created" yesterday at 08:51, but it now says "Modified" today at 17:00 and "Added" today at 17:27.

I'm still on El Capitan. Any reason why to upgrade Sierra? Will probably stick with it until at least .3 of High Sierra..

I know y'all are exciting to update to 10.12.6. IMO, why don't just wait till High Sierra, which few months down the road. I doubt 12.6 would be significant.

One doesn't really have much to do with the other. People can be happy about updates to the current OS they are using, just as they can be happy about an upcoming OS (which hasn't been released yet).

Nothing you'll notice, it's just performance, bug fixes and security. It's also most likely the last Sierra update before 10.13 comes out this fall. Those are usually nice and stable.
Actually, I'm betting that there'll be one more update. Often, the last minor update comes after the next OS version has been released. Since Apple has a few months before High Sierra gets released, it seems likely that they'll work on one more update for Sierra.

No issues here with 10.12.6 on a MP 5,1 12-core. Trouble-free install and operation so far.

My points stand regardless. macOS and its updates have been **** for 5-6 years.
maybe i live in another dimension or an alternate reality because i never had an update failed with mac os
i do respect your opinion and your comment but my personal experience is the total opposite

i think you got confused and you meant to say windows 10 update failed
like W10 anniversary update
system updating, wait , reboot
wait some more still rebooting
get a cup of coffee then comeback
my bad eat something else still installing
OK finished installing
but guess what
update failed , rolling back
so now you have to wait some more again
another half hour wasted

welcome to windows
the best windows ever

baila bamba

My first post so I might be doing in incorrectly. Be patient. I just upgraded to 10.12.6 and now my keyboard backlight doesn't come on until AFTER I login. Hard to log in in a dimly lit den. Any ideas on how to fix? MacBook Pro 2016.

I am guessing you have FileVault enabled. In this case, that is normal behaviour after a reboot. The backlight will remain enabled at log out or after sleep until the next reboot.

Your correct about FileVault. It wasn't enabled before the update but I decided to enable it. I guess i will go back to a disabled FileVault. Thanks for the help.
