Have to say, impressed at download speed for 7.70 GB. Didn't quite catch start time but appeared to be less than four minutes. And my broadband is only "OK" - not super-mega-fast.

Install took about an hour on M2 Air 16GB/1TB. Upgrading from Monterrey.

Everything runs as expected:
-iDOS 2
-ryujinx
-aethersx2

I also installed the new Bartender 5. It's tits.

Is Bartender 5 worth it? I don't have any complaints or big wants beyond what 4 already does. What do you like?

Downloaded and already wishing to go back. I use several desktops with different wall papers on each. Now it seams it's just one wallpaper on every desk top, so you don't know whether to scroll left or right to get to where you need to go. Bloody typical of an apple cock up
There is a "Show in all Spaces" ON/OFF switch in the Background Settings pane. Doesn't that help?

[edit] Sorry, already answered [/edit]

You guys are nuts for putting on a .0 release. :p
Why? There were seven public betas and two release candidates alone – not including any internal alphas and betas.

Obviously there will always be little bugs and security updates for the life of the OS, but there's not nearly as much catastrophic risk to initial releases as you seem to think.

I did notice one with with Sonoma, when I click on the desktop it creates a box around the outside of my screen.
Trying to figure out what it is for.
Your click activates the ‘Show Desktop’ function. You can disable this under Settings / Desktop.

From what I read Bartender 4 isn't compatible with Sonoma so it looks like a forced upgrade. That being said it looks ot have some nice new features.
Gotcha. Looks like I qualify for a 50% off upgrade, so I guess that's what I'm doing.

yes it will upgrade but your trial period will run out and you will have to pay for the upgrade.
According to the site: "If you bought Bartender 4 after 8th June 2022, Bartender 5 will work with your existing license, you do not need to buy an upgrade."

The ‌macOS Sonoma update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Settings.

macOS Sonoma adds interactive widgets to the desktop, bringing them out of the Today view and making them more prominent and useful. With Continuity, you can even see and interact with your iPhone widgets on your Mac.

There are a range of new Apple TV-like screensavers that feature slow-motion videos of worldwide locations, along with matching desktop wallpapers. Apple added a new Game Mode for Macs with Apple silicon chips, and this option prioritizes games on the CPU and GPU for smoother performance.

Video conferencing gets a boost with a Presenter Overlay effect for sharing content, plus there's a high performance mode for Screen Sharing that offers higher frame rates and low-latency audio so pros can access their content creation workflows from anywhere.

Safari's Private Browsing mode is locked behind Touch ID, Profiles can be used to separate work and personal browsing, and there are improved tracking and fingerprinting protections to preserve your privacy. You can save your favorite websites as web apps on the desktop or the dock, and they will work as regular apps with a simplified toolbar.

Many of the features that are in iOS 17 are also in macOS Sonoma. The Messages app supports a new stickers experience that turns all emoji into stickers, the People album can recognize pets, and Visual Lookup works with videos and can recognize food and identify symbols on labels and signs.

AirTags can be shared with other people using Find My, iCloud Keychain passwords can be shared with friends and family members, the Notes app supports inline PDFs, and Siri can now be activated without saying "Hey." Unfortunately, still no possibility to alter the EQ of the horrible sound quality!

MBP late 2017 user here - so I don't get the update (unless I decide to use OpenCore).

Of course, I'd rather have it than not but looking at the list of features... I'm not too bothered really.

And Apple did a great job of releasing a version of Safari with profiles in and privacy fingerprint protection for Ventura, so Ventura users got the best stuff of this release imho.

Those animated wallpapers would've been nice but I'm not sure if the integrated graphics in my MBP could handle it.
