Apple today released macOS Ventura 13.5, the fifth major update to the macOS Ventura operating system that was released in October. macOS Ventura 13.5 comes a month after the launch of macOS Ventura 13.4, an update that brought minor features to the Apple News app and bug fixes.

The ‌‌‌macOS Ventura‌‌‌ 13.5 update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Settings.

According to Apple's release notes, macOS Ventura 13.5 introduces important bug fixes and security updates. Apple recommends that all users install the software.

There are no notable feature changes or standout bug fixes in macOS Ventura 13.5, and work on the operating system is wrapping up. Apple is shifting its focus to macOS Sonoma, the next-generation version of macOS that's coming this fall.

Early adopters, please install and post any issues to those of us who are a little slower.

:)
Not really sure at this stage there are many issues - when an OS passes .4 - things tend to be bug fixes, security fixes and some small performance improvements.

Still.... who's to say :)

I usually refrain from major updates until early adopters jump in, but from .4 onwards I tend to do the updates without waiting.

Hmm. On my Intel 2020 MacBook Pro, no update found (13.4.1 shows as "up to date")

EDIT: 25 minutes later, it showed up. 1.56 GB download...

It doesn't go through. It displays "Failed to prepare the software update. Please try again"...
Edit) I installed the os with the full installer, not the upgrader.

Ahead of the arrival of macOS Sonoma later this fall, Apple has released macOS Ventura 13.5 to all users with bug fixes and nearly 30 security fixes. According to Apple’s release notes, the update includes small bug fixes and performance optimizations. More importantly for most users are nearly 30 security updates that patch several vulnerabilities spanning Safari, Shortcuts, FindMy, and various system resources

Was a bit rocky after install, various apps crashed on their first or second runs. Logitech software threw a system error and couldn’t load, but started working after 5 minutes.

All good now though.

Got that funny "optimizing your Mac" notification after installation again. Some kind of indexing was going on, maxing out my e cores. Took less than 5 minutes to complete, the notification dismissed itself, all seems good.
Oh, it must be so satisfying to see that only the e-cores take care of such tasks, being, you know, efficient and all… minimum heat and power consumption for maintenance tasks.

How are you able to see if just the e-cores are handling this task? Using iStats Menu?

at this point I’d skip ventura and go to Sonoma It’s much smoother
Is it? I wondered, bc Sonoma looks like a total snooze-fest from a features standpoint. Thought they might be shaping up a stability release like leopard/snow leopard etc.

…my ventura usb installer just completed on the one machine i’m taking past mojave. but maybe i’ll hold out & catch the next train…
