I have a quick question if you don’t mind, only Ventura has an IPSW file? I guess that’s only valid for Apple Silicon macs…

That's my plan. I'm still on Monterey.at this point I’d skip ventura and go to Sonoma
It’s much smoother
That would be my plan as well, if my Mac was compatible. I’m stuck with Monterey forever on my Mac, but I can’t complain because it runs pretty smoothly.at this point I’d skip ventura and go to Sonoma
It’s much smoother
In Activity Monitor, show the CPU History.Oh, it must be so satisfying to see that only the e-cores take care of such tasks, being, you know, efficient and all… minimum heat and power consumption for maintenance tasks.
How are you able to see if just the e-cores are handling this task? Using iStats Menu?
Yeah I also got that one, though it took a while for it to complete. Everything seems fine so far.Got that funny "optimizing your Mac" notification after installation again. Some kind of indexing was going on, maxing out my e cores. Took less than 5 minutes to complete, the notification dismissed itself, all seems good.
Yup, iStat Menus.Oh, it must be so satisfying to see that only the e-cores take care of such tasks, being, you know, efficient and all… minimum heat and power consumption for maintenance tasks.

Yeah I really hope Sonoma will be more of a stability release than a feature-rich update. We really need something like a Snow Leopard release right now. Ventura hasn’t been the best for me and I’ve been facing some few bugs with itIs it? I wondered, bc Sonoma looks like a total snooze-fest from a features standpoint. Thought they might be shaping up a stability release like leopard/snow leopard etc.
…my ventura usb installer just completed on the one machine i’m taking past mojave. but maybe i’ll hold out & catch the next train…
I've also got iStat, where do you see that? I can see a per-core graph if I click on the CPU label and then hover over the usage section(User, System & Idle), but it doesn't seem to be labelling the cores for me?Yup, iStat Menus.
I think you've got to look at the "CPU History" window in Activity Monitor in order to get a per-core graph with labels for each core. However, I believe the graphs in iStats follow the same order as they do in Activity Monitor so once you see how they're arranged in Activity Monitor then you'll be able to figure it out in iStats.I've also got iStat, where do you see that? Hopefully this fixes the bug introduced in 13.4 where (mostly) LG displays attached via any form of DisplayPort are no longer able to stay asleep.
Problem described here (Apple discussions), here (Apple Developer), and here (reddit).
Word is Apple has marked this bug as "Works as currently designed."
It would be great if MacRumors and other Apple news outlets publicized this problem!
If you're connected via HDMI, it won't happen. Any chance that is your connection?haven't had this problem with my lg
Indeed. A new Snow Leopard / Mavericks / Sierra stability kind of update. Now with interactive widgets on the desktop!Yeah I really hope Sonoma will be more of a stability release than a feature-rich update. We really need something like a Snow Leopard release right now. Ventura hasn’t been the best for me and I’ve been facing some few bugs with it![]()

I don't know the arrangement for every Mac/CPU, but I do know on the M1 Pro, the leftmost 2 bars are the e cores.I've also got iStat, where do you see that? I can see a per-core graph if I click on the CPU label and then hover over the usage section(User, System & Idle), but it doesn't seem to be labelling the cores for me?
Yes, 12.6.8Does anyone know if Apple released an update to Monterey? Thank you.
From what I’ve read from the Sonoma beta‘s, it seems to be a solid release come October.Yeah I really hope Sonoma will be more of a stability release than a feature-rich update. My machine updated quite quickly. The re-optimization, whatever it's doing, is taking longer than downloading the update, installing it, and rebooting. These updates shouldn't take so long to install! Microsoft has really dialed this in pretty well on Windows 10 and 11.
I notice OneDrive is missing in Finder Favourites under certain conditions. Very annoying because that's where I save all my work.Does it fix the bug where Desktop randomly disappears from Finder favorites? Happens to me constantly. Super annoying.
