Couldn't help notice, but shouldn't it be

Mail Update 1.0 for Mavericks

And not

Mail Update for Mavericks 1.0

Mavericks isn't 1.0 it's technically 10.9. ???

Considering after it installs it reads simply, "Mail Update for Mavericks" I think that is just the fact that the Mac App Store appends the version number to the end of the "App" title.

I'm stuck in a loop. App store says to close Mail but Mail won't close. Can't even Force Close or restart.

Edit to add: Was able to force quit and reboot. Everything seems normal, but I haven't tried to send anything yet.

You guys all have the "Show in IMAP" settings enabled for your Gmail settings? I just went to the Gmail website, went to Settings -> Labels, and checked the "Show in IMAP" box for whatever I wanted to see in Mail on OS X. Not having any issues here.

drag/drop still broken

dragging/dropping a message from the inbox to another folder still doesn't work right -- the message disappears, then reappears, then disappears.

on the plus side, emails are now arriving in my inbox in a timely manner (so far).

Hi guys,

I can't see the download link of the patch on Apple support page...

Any help ?

Thanks

It's not on the support page. It would've been released through the developer portal, since developers were the only ones on the first GM.

Just download the release version from the Mac App Store and install as normal.

Which patch? The mail update patch? Or from the testing GM to the actual release? Because that's not a patch, you have to "purchase" the full version for a grand 0$. Then it downloads, upgrades, and you check for updates again.

I don't use Gmail, and don't see any differences, it installed and started up in seconds.

I do have an issue though...ever since upgrading to Mavericks, I have lost the "Add to Reading List" option when control-clicking on any links in a mail message. I don't see a "Share" submenu at all, actually. I use that all the time to save links to read later, so it's annoying to have to open a link in Safari and then save it to the Reading List.

I think the fact that people are still having problems with Gmail is a sign... that people need to drop Gmail as quickly as possible. This is the second major company (Microsoft isn't having much luck with Gmail either) that has had to bend over backwards because something "breaks Gmail support".

I wish it were that easy. We adopted the Google Mail for biz suite a number of years ago including Google Docs / etc. long before any other reasonable solution was available. Simply bailing from that would not be a quick process.

I have an iBooks update... no mail update. Ofcourse the best update to Mail is switching to AirMail:D

I wonder will this help with the recurring "your gmail password is incorrect" that I get from time to time on my ios6 and ios7 ipod touches.

The mail update patch.

My update also just hung (I have two identical rMBP13 at the moment, pending a return) - Mail on one is now at build 1822, the other at 1811 and softwareupdate crash log is present - anyone know how to reapply the update with the new "magic" App Store?

My Mail update downloaded and installed automatically, nice to see that feature working its magic. Weird that my iBooks update did not install itself automatically though.

The biggest bug I've had so far in Mavericks would be multitouch gestures and the two-finger horizontal scrolling. It seems to happen a lot in Launchpad, and it's 100% consistent in third-party applications such as µTorrent.

Yep. I've actually noticed this when using Preview, but not in the host of third party apps I use. Probably should have filed a bug report by now, but I'm just so lazy and expect someone else to do it for me...

Damn, I was lazy and was expecting somebody to do it for me as well. :(

I guess this'll never get fixed :D

We recently dropped Gmail completely and couldn't be happier. Other IMAP email services work great in the Mail app. Gmail's nonstandard IMAP implementation is a headache and is the only oddball. Other email clients have problems with it as well. In this day and age with mobile devices and tablets, I'm finding very little need to ever visit a website to access my email so Gmail had to go.

This patch helps quite a bit. But keep in mind, after you install it, it will take some time as Mail.app does all the syncs, etc. It took about an hour and then my Mail.app was back to the way it was pre-Mavericks.

I'm really glad I'm not in a situation where I can't purge all of my email every month or so.
