So you voted negaitve because Apple failed to address an issue that you are personally having right now? You already have a larger-capacity solution to your dilemma. It's called iPod, and it's prices start at $249. It has more features, more storage-space and it's smaller than your current player. So what's the problem here?

Yep. I'm not saying it's the right reason to vote negative, and like I said I don't usually do it, but... Oh well. Anyway, a couple of weeks borrowing my wife's iPod mini has shown me that I really value the smaller physical side but also "need" access to more than ~1/5 of my collection. Yes, I want it both ways, and I got my hopes up over this rumor by not paying enough attention to the low expectations.

I don't have a problem with you getting on his self-centered case.

But I will say two things. One, an 8GB nano is big enough. You don't need that much music on it, if you do get a full size video iPod.

Two, I have a 40GB 3G iPod that I still use in my Bose Sounddock and used to use for everything and I got a 8GB Nano for xmas to replace it. It definately feels cheaper, the screen it small and doesn't look as good, but really it was the perfect replacement because I use my iPod for two things, working out and snowboarding, and in both cases smaller is better along with the flash vs. HDD and longer battery life. Now the nano doesn't seem to sound as good in my car. Maybe it doesn't produce sound as well, I don't know. For headphones it is great, but in the car notsomuch. So I can see the arguments for wanting a Nano over a Video iPod, but really I can't see the argument that they need to bump the sizes already.

Lastly, I didn't own a 1G Nano, but it seems as though, scratches and cracking issues aside, it may have been a better case design. People always want lighter, smaller, etc. and for me something with a little weight is sometimes nice. Now iPods aren't that light so making them a little lighter over the years is good. But the Nanos almost feel a bit too light at times. I have a Nokia 8801 cell phone that I love because it is stainless steel and has a nice weight and feel in my hand unlike some phones out there that are too light and cheap feeling. i.e. all Motos.

Again, I am sure you are taking this the wrong way. There is a difference between would like one and excited like this made your day jumping up and down this is better than Mac Pro or iMac revisions or whatever else could have come.

And since I'm married I don't think getting a girlfriend is in my future.

Then may I suggest you change your posting style? While your post didn't offend me, it could've offended others.

I wouldn't say it was offensive (though I would understand if there were people who felt that way), I just saw it as embarrassing for the poster to come off in the way he did.

Oh I'm soo thrilled.

I need mac updates, it's like I'm addicted now. Oh well the orange looks sick :D

Did anyone mentioned the new shuffles now comes with the "new-designed" earbuds?

They are just too small for my ears and have them replaced without thinking.

Yeah, I just noticed that too! Hopefully the winers will stop complaining about the old ones now :D. Apple probably just had to get rid of the old style.

if i had the money and was an shuffle addict, i would buy a light blue, green and pink one. they all look so cute.

i think this was a good move by apple, at least make it known that apple hasn't disappear completely with a small product update on vista's big debut day. it gets them on the radar, even though it's very minor, it does what it's intended, promote apple.
