If anyone has Bluetooth issues, I had to do a SMC reset to get Bluetooth working. Would not turn on after updating to PB8. This is on a MacBook Pro 16.

My Adobe CS6
VMWare Fusion 11.5.7
anything that requires QT32. some apps just complain on startup QT or some codecs aren't available and continue on.

anything that isn't 64bit clean - using any 32bit libs or drivers

pretty much antique software at this point since devs have all updated as appropriate.

you may get stuck with some odd old hardware driver though like a 3D printer, laser engraver or such, but then you know that and plan to run an old OS mac to support use of that hardware.

if it runs ok on 11.5 it'll be ok on OS 12, if it runs on 10.15 should probably be ok but testing may be required.

Anyone ran into issue with installing Monterey OS Dev Beta 8 on Mac Pro 2013 ? after applying the Beta 8 update, the Mac Pro 2013 boots but progress bar stops abit 1/4 of way. Nothing happens afterwards.. When force reboot, there is no boot information, Macintosh HD is gone , only drive remain in apfs is Macintosh HD -Data and update .. I am able to repeat the process and same result
Same thing is happening on my Mac Pro 2013.

How did you restore back to what you had before Beta 8 update?

I guess we won't see macOS12 to come to GA before Mid of October,
simply looking back at past Major Releases and through how many BETAs they went...

BigSur had 10 BETAs before going GA !

Only issue I had with this Beta and loading it I had to put my admin password in 4 times before it restarted. No biggie just odd.

I totally get that, but the trade-off may be not upgrading your OS going forward. Your call, obviously.
I have two capable Macs, a newer M1 Mac with Big Sur that will get the latest updates. There is no need to upgrade my Early 2015 Intel
based MacBook Pro.

I was expecting it on September 20. I miss when macOS was in sync with the rest of the ecosystem. These arbitrary delays with no ETAs for macOS to catch up to everything else are becoming quite frustrating.
It never was.

So much like all of the recent posts That Apple used to be more user-friendly under Steve Jobs, you are looking at the past with rose tinted glasses.
Hell, who can forget that macOS X leopard was originally supposed to launch in spring 2007, but got delayed till October 2007 because of the iPhone?
Some things never change, and the truth is that A brand spanking new version of iOS and macOS have never launched on the same day, and don’t even launch in the same month more than not.
Hell for the fun of it…

Indeed. That being said, it seems like this means Apple is waiting to will hold a Mac event soon to release the software and hardware together in the fall rather than the spring, which was somewhat uncertain given the different rumors.

The difficulty from now on with Mojave will be lack of compatibility with newer apps, but more importantly lack of security updates. It's fine though if you stay offline with that computer.

Here as well! Shouldn't have installed the public beta!
Was working fine in b7. That's the shocker of it. I waited until b6 but I wanted to get working on Shortcuts, because there's a lot of power in them. Frankly this could happen with any dot release, but it's still a big, big bug.

I'm on a MBP 16" with 2x 4K displays, both on DisplayPort connected via a TB3 dock. Is it safe to say this release will break my setup?

Has there been any acknowledgement from Apple on this issue?
