Out of interest where do I get a copy of beta 6 from please?
I never says that it is 'the latest beta' it always reports 'latest version'.I'm not getting this update on my Mac. I'm still on 12.0 Beta (21A5506j) from August, and it keeps saying it's the latest beta.
I meant it says "Your Mac is up to date ..."I never says that it is 'the latest beta' it always reports 'latest version'.
Maybe you removed the beta profile by accident?
I meant it says "Your Mac is up to date ..."
But I removed and reinstalled the beta profile hoping that would change things. But nada.
I restarted the Mac and it found Beta 8 *facepalm* LMAOStrange. I went back to Beta 6 and Software Update shows me Beta 8 as available.
How does this make it any better though? Almost all Apple OSes these days are released simultaneously, why should macOS be the only exception? Is it that much harder to get a solid release timeline with macOS than with any of the other OSes?It never was.

So much like all of the recent posts That Apple used to be more user-friendly under Steve Jobs, you are looking at the past with rose tinted glasses.
Hell, who can forget that macOS X leopard was originally supposed to launch in spring 2007, but got delayed till October 2007 because of the iPhone?
Some things never change, and the truth is that A brand spanking new version of iOS and macOS have never launched on the same day, and don’t even launch in the same month more than not.

There are new MacOs machines rumored for this month. It makes sense that the release of the MacOS might correlate with those releases. In these days of chip shortages you can't always control who gets what at what time. How does this make it any better though? Almost all Apple OSes these days are released simultaneously, why should macOS be the only exception? Is it that much harder to get a solid release timeline with macOS than with any of the other OSes?
On a side note: It's weird and not really user friendly to have some of the devices of the same ecosystem with newer functions and others aren't compatible with them. (This was especially frustrating when Notes and Reminders etc. had a new sync system and therefore weren't compatible.
