Only tiny bugs for me in Beta 8.

The next one has to be the GM, which means the next event could be looming!
Tiny for some, quite big for others.

Not remebering menubar icon position (changed by CMD + drag) is quite a deal for me as it means each app I launch after Dozer/Vanilla stars (for hiding icons) will have its icon hidden no matter how many times I drag it to the visible section. And hiding icons is even more important with those stupid hude spaces between them in Big Sur.

Scrolling control center/volume sliders via touchpad left/right and having in exact opposite direction is also quite annoying despite being "tiny" bug.

I used the Feedback assistant the first time in a while to report a bug to Apple. The problem I'm having is minor but should be fixed. The zoom function doesn't remember the magnification setting when zoomed in and out more than once. The only exception to this is, If I reboot the machine and then zoom in, it will go to the correct magnification. However, if I zoom out again, and back in, it zooms in very minimally without much magnification.

I tried creating a new user and resetting PRAM, but this seems to be an OS bug. I only noticed it in the PB equiv to DB 8.

Hopefully this is resolved when the DB 9 PB is released, or the one after that. Because I have low vision, I like accessibility to just work. Thankfully I can still manually reset it, but it's supposed to remember.

Anyway, Catalina is stable for me, So I can wait for Big Sur before putting it on the production machine.

Beyond this, I haven't done too much deep investigation on the test machine to see what problems I have. So far as a whole minimal glitching here.

8 betas (9 now) and they didn’t fix the fan issue with the MacBook Pro 16-inch when connected to an external monitor. At this point I’m ready to give up and sale this piece of c.... machine.
Dude on many forums this is just the design of this junk, some forums said use thunderbolt instead of HDMI and i thought that would solve it. Nope it stills sounds like I am on a runway for 747's to take off.

I did bootcamp it and use a EGPU (nvidia) for it and surprisingly the fans are only half way and not full blast turbo!

GM would be welcome.

My SSD has been struggling with space since I installed the first beta (I have windows 10, Big Sur and Catalina triple-booting)

My MacBook Pro 16” is mostly fine under Catalina when connected to an external monitor. Slight fan noise and additional heat but nothing particularly annoying. Are we saying that Big Sur has made the issue worse?

Yea, the building number when up, and they went from i to c so we're surely getting close. Fingers crossed this beta proves to be a lot more stable.

Hopefully Photos syncing to iOS devices NOT via iCloud has become more reliable. Not hopeful though.

I am holding off on installing the GM on the two main machines for quite a while, the test machine it is on is fine, but not the one I use or the spouse uses.

What processes are running in the background...? Rather than an external monitor issue, it could be one of those zombie processes sucking your CPU dry that's causing the fans to spin up.....

I'm yet seen few quality comments here because of "angry" people "selling" their machines for "problems on beta OS". I mean, if you are so pissed 1) Why not just side loaded Big Sur for beta and use two os on one computer (since you can do this easily on APFS drives or external drives) 2) why not just downgrade ? . I was on beta and because I was having some beta related problems, I clean install Catalina and I'm happy right now. If I were selling laptops because of bugs I would have no computer since every os has problems :D

Apple really should've end public betas and limits dev profile usage. People have mostly no idea how to work on beta ( and most of them even don't use Feedback Assistant at all)

i get an network error when attempt to download Beta 9

It is a hardware problem with the AMD video cards. There is no fix.

Yea, 7 and 8 were bad.

Getting close. But even beta 8 was still super buggy.

When connecting to an external monitor with the 16inch MBP the power assumption by the video card doubles and fans to increase to very loud levels even when using very little CPU. This is a hardware problem and will not be able to be fixed with with OS or drivers. We returned 15 laptops because of this problem and worked with a variety of departments at Apple.

I still believe the mammoth work of targeting two different CPU architectures is likely what’s leading to the unstable state and prolonged beta. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few more betas.
and let me tell you the experiences are completely different between the two.

Looking for option to run application in low resolution that was greyed out in beta 8. (useful for retina Macs) Otherwise I hope this improves some of everyones problems with Big Sur. :)

Ready for public beta. I hope they don’t delay this again for days. Getting tired of that ****.

This issue was already in Catalina!
That is the reason why I have sold my MBP16"
The dGPU is draining over 18Watts, if it is connected via external monitor.
More Watt is more heat and fan noise.
