If Software Update hangs/crashes/doing noting but spinning around: I did Force Quit the 'softwareupdated' process/daemon in Activity Monitor while having the App Store running. The update started immediately.

I downloaded 10.4.4 to solve slow connectivity problem over my DSL internet but this did not resolve it. My speed is fine until I put my MacBook Pro online and it slows my whole network. Thought this would fix issue???

Go to the Terminal and type:
sudo trimforce enable

I just did it and it worked perfectly!

I just did it, and now I'm getting this:

The update corrupted my installation. After it rebooted, it shuts down around 25% of the booting process. Even safe mode does not work. I rebooted on Recovery disk and did a "Verify" on Disk Utility and I was given an Error 8 - and the disk cannot be repaired. It says I need to do a re-installation.

Yay! I've been using Chameleon SSD Optimiser for Trim but i hate having to re-enable kext in terminal every time there's an OS X update.

The iTunes website now says iTunes 12.2 coming soon.

Very odd since the Apple Music website tells you to upgrade and it wasn't included in Mac OS 10.10.4

Do i need to disable trim force before updating OS X in the future or can i just leave it now?

I wouldn't advise anyone update right away, especially if you have important projects to do during the work day. I haven't been able to get past the login screen, so now seeing what I can do in safe mode. Only update I ran was EFI. Hope I can figure out how to boot normally again.

Edit - Just an update, once I rebooted from safe mode, it let me in just fine. Not sure what that was all about.

You can leave it. It remains to be seen if it will remain enabled after the next update, but it won't prevent the computer from booting like Cindori's enabler does.

The Cindori instructions do not always work _ I had the same situation on my MBP some months ago - in the end the only option was a full reinstall from Time Machine

After some more tinkering with the Terminal, I finally got the system to boot up, and TRIM is enabled. I guess something must have went wrong after I disabled Chameleon TRIM Enabler, and then ran the trimforce command.

Is there a way to check if kext signing is enabled on my system? When I type "nvram boot-args" it says data was not found

the process for me has been

update > download > available updates have changed

repeat infinitely
