the process for me has been

update > download > available updates have changed

repeat infinitely

Yeah, I was having exactly the same issue. Just go ahead and download the update file manually (links above) and update that way. Your App Store will still show the multiple 'non' Updates though.

so itunes 12.2 for apple music will be available in 45 min?

Where did you hear that? Or are you asking the forum if it will be available in 45 mins? I suspect nobody here knows. It will be available when it's available :)

Update : I now see someone in another thread saying they heard that Apple announced iTunes 12.2 would be released 2pm Pacific Time.

The biggest change in OS X 10.10.4 is
the elimination of the discoveryd process
that's been accused of being responsible for some significant networking and WiFi bugs within Yosemite.

Does anyone know if they removed or fixed the pacemaker process? It has a terrible bug that prevents it from doing its main job: keeping your Mac's clock in sync with a timeserver. It is supposed to routinely throughout every day make sure your computer clock is synced to a timeserver. It doesn't do that. Instead, only when you go the the Date & Time system preference panel will you see the time jump (usually several seconds or minutes if it has been a while since you last did this) to what it should be. You might not notice if you don't have display time with seconds turned on. This issue can be a problem for systems where a computer works offline, then re-connects to the Internet and is supposed to sync with other systems. Not good, and it seems like it's been a problem for years.

Downloaded the update directly from the link. It's now on Installation point, saying Preparing OS X Update.
How long is this supposed to take?

Well it's nice to see that they didn't fix any bugs in the App Store Updates page. It still fails to reliably show progress bars and stuff like that when doing updates.

You are involving multiple parameters
Load on Apple Servers
Load on your ISP
Theoretical Down Speed of your connection

But as an example here in Germany with a solid 65 MBPS download speed, to an i7 iMac, I had to wait an hour before the link did not do anything but use 13% of my processor power, while not downloading anything.
Restart to clear "downloaded" wait, repeat - eventually it kicked it at a good speed

I had the same issue. I went to the supermarket around the corner and when I came back it was still "Preparing". Restarting twice (yeah, really twice) fixed the problem. After that preparing only took a second.

Installed about 30 mins ago. So far so good. I'd been using the beta's and my WiFi issues had been fixed in later releases but I still had issues with my Magic Mouse not playing nice when WiFi was enabled and now it seems good.

Nice to be using a native Trim solution as well.

I'm disappointed this notice isn't at the MacRumors main page (while the iOS update is). I stopped going to AppleInsider as my first Apple-related page when they began posting almost 100% of articles about iOS, and at that time I found MacRumors still respected the Mac, so I moved here as my first Apple page. But it seems there's no interest on the Mac anywhere any more.
I noticed that, too. I had to find this post from a Google search.

Updated to 10.10.4 on my less-than-a-week-old MacBook 2015 model. Worked great, downloaded quick and installed without issue. Always scary when it does multiple reboots, though.

I'm not sure this question was answered yet, so is there any confirmation that doing sudo trimforce doesn't turn kext signing off? I'm a little apprehensive about doing this as I'm afraid that I will have booting problems.

I have a Samsung SSD

This should be on the front page, tbh. I've been waiting for this day since getting my 2015 MacBook Air. The wifi issues caused me to think it was something with the computer and I replaced it with a 2014 rMBP, and similar issues arose. And now it's like actually using a computer and getting the bandwidth I pay for, or any bandwidth at all.

This has nothing to do with kext signing. It's an official, though unsupported, means of enabling Trim by Apple.

Updated through the app store, battery life still horrible!
Then downloaded and re-installed the combo update, no luck again!
Ever since I updated to 10.10.2 or .3 (not sure), my Mid-2014 rMBP has a very poor battery life of 3-4 hours.
Also, Safari is even worse, every other random page fails to open.
Any solutions?
