Precisely why I have held off from installing the 10.11.4 beta till now.

There are other reasons to forego the current 10.11.4 beta, such as a fundamental bug with bluetooth:

https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/30613

I have this problem, and as well have found that the 10.11.4 beta still has the same well documented USB problems as 10.11.3.

Indeed 10.11.4 will be a superset of previous releases, but screwed up in a brand new way.

Hey, I just noticed 10.11.3 changed my keyboard setting to U.S and removed my UK keyboard from settings.
Switched it back to British. o_O

It seems that your keyboard has changed to ENGLISH U.S.
Check your settings, you may need to change it back to whatever setting you had before.

Yeah, that was it, thanks. Must have been some quirk in the OS update process. I changed it back to what it was before and now is ok.

As far as I can tell, no, they didn't fix this. I'm not sure I have the same problem as the one you mention. I have a MBPr with 2 external monitors attached and the lid open (total 3 screens) and usually when the screens shut down (not the machine) waking them up causes all sorts of havoc. I usually have to turn the external screens off first, "wake" the computer, and then turn the screens on again. This still happens with 10.11.3.
I think the update resolved my issue - I'll do further testing tomorrow.

Don't forget to update your recovery partition. Updating through the mac app store or with the delta or combo update will NOT update the recovery partition.

To make the 10.11.3 recovery partition:

1. Download the Lion Recovery Update from https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1464?locale=en_US . Make sure it is in your downloads folder. Download the full installer for el capitan 10.11.3 from the mac app store, right click on it and click Show Package Contents. Go to Contents/SharedSupport/. Copy the InstallESD.dmg file into your Downloads folder.

2. Download and decompress the file recovery.sh.zip from http://4unitmaths.com/recovery.sh.zip and move recovery.sh into your Downloads folder if it's not there already.

3. Open Terminal and type the following commands:

chmod +x ~/Downloads/recovery.sh

sudo ~/Downloads/recovery.sh

4. Wait a few minutes for it to finish and return back to a prompt. Reboot with holding down the option key to test your 10.11.3 recovery partition.

What's the benefit of having an updated recovery partition?

Anyone know how to install the full 10.11.3 installer? It only downloaded 10.11.2.
You may just have to wait. Apple updated the download to 10.11.3 immediately at release but it could be cached as the old version in some areas.

I have! So weird.

When you run this command in the terminal you won't get beta updates anymore:

Code:
sudo softwareupdate --clear-catalog

Occasionally apple release a thing called Recovery Update. But only sometimes. It is an elegant way to update the recovery partition and does not require a full installer.

I am not 100% sure, but are those Recovery Updates not only for fixing bugs in the Recovery System? I always have to run a full installer instead of an update to get my Recovery Partition updated to the latest version.

Yes. You are right. Running the full installer is indeed a third way to update the recovery partition - even if the system has already been updated via mac app store or a delta or combo update.

But it is like opening a walnut with a sledge hammer.

Hence the popularity of the lion recovery update method I outlined earlier.

It is much quicker.

Of course if apple release a recovery update for a point release that will be even better. But as I said before they don't always do this and didn't for 10.11.3.

So in this case your options are either run the full installer, or use the lion recovery update method.

One subtle difference is that if you have reverted core storage and want it to remain that way, the lion recovery update method is far superior because it leaves your reverted partitions alone whereas the full installer will reconvert back to core storage and then you will have to revert it again. Nevermind if you haven't a clue what I'm talking about, but if you do know then you will appreciate this subtle difference.

Tried the terminal command you provided, and also tried the Clear Cookies and Reset Application options in the App Store Debug menu, but nothing seems to work unfortunately. Think I'll just have to wait as it won't download the installer again at all (let alone 10.11.2), even after deleting the Install OS X El Capitan app in my Applications folder. Grrr! Impatient!!

Update: I read somewhere in here to try booting into Safe mode (Cmd+S on startup). YES, it worked!! allowing me to successfully download the full 10.11.3 installer. Plus I applied the Recovery HD update method mentioned here (EXCELLENT!!), so I'm all up to date.

Now, how can I break something…

I didn't see where is said anything about Safari, but this is the fasted Safari has refreshed since ElCap was installed.

That was my biggest complaint, very slow refreshes on most pages. Seems to be fixed or at least improved.

Hope it sticks for a while.

The update killed my rMBP. Half the web pages no longer load. All other not http functions seem to work properly. I'm on Ethernet but turning on wifi and turning it off fixes it for about a minute. Doing a clean install for the first time with El Cap. Hopefully it fixes it, can't get any work done like this.

Good improvement in performance with 10.11.3 on mid 2009 MacBook Pro 17".
It has been ok throughout the updates but the difference is quite obvious with this update.

Spotlight has a minor problem with "Last Opened Date" history. I think it could be something i've done myself because I can't find other users with the same issue.

A couple of my colleagues at work have the WiFi issue, clean reinstalled OS X, no improvement. Sure glad I held off since my MBPr is mission critical for both work and personal.

This is the _new_ Apple below average quality standards.

"Just Ship It"

I upgraded to 10.11.3, and now I can't type in Safari's address bar. (Safari 9.0.3). Hugely frustrating and cripples surfing almost completely.

It was all ok immediately before, and not working immediately after. I've rebooted with no luck.

Anyone else getting this?

Has anyone noticed that when you're watching a video full screen in OS X 10.11.3 any Notification Center notifications actually show up over the full-screen video as opposed to under it? This is new behavior and likely a bug.
