Apple Releases OS X 10.7.2 with iCloud Support and Safari 5.1.1

Geez...

A 9 hour download...and I have very fast internet connection. Looks like all of that hardware Apple placed in the north Carolina can't handle the traffic. Even on a slow day, my updates from Microsoft don't take 8-9 hours to update Win 7. Geez.

I know I'll get flamed but the fact is that Apple is still not ready for prime-time when it comes to updating its installed base. 8-9 hour download is flat out ridiculous.

update - it now says 20 hours! WTF?
Update 2 - restarted the update, per one of the postes...now it is 59 hours! WTF!!!

if you're looking at 4-8 hour download do this:

quit software update, then when the window with the updates appears, click on install.

the updater will resume from where you left off at a much faster speed. i was facing an 8 hour download, this those steps, and the download finished in less than eight minutes.

Only 85 more hours according to my update ticker.

Maybe my 4S will be here before this is done.

-----------------

Make it 100 hours.

Screen flickering like crazy

Does anyone else have a major problem after the update of your screen going nuts? I have a 20" cinema display and the screen now is jigging and zagging like nuts. I don't understand what is going on. Basically my computer is like having a stroke every 2 seconds.

Totally sucks, any ideas how to fix?

That sounds very odd. I would check connections and restart. You could also try detecting displays in the display panel of system preferences. Don't know what else to suggest.

My 2008 MacBook went throughout the download and install then after so long told me the mac os update could not be installed and to restart:mad:
