Battery is at almost 4 hours left with 95% left. MBA 2011 here. Hope this isn't accurate because that would just suck.

EDIT: Now i have 7 hours left with 89%. weird but if it stays ill take it.

My rMBP showed me 6:45 right before the update (only safari opened), after the update I get 4:23.... (only safari opened, same webpage, same brightness)

I would use these smilies to describe how I'm feeling:     :(

EDIT: Dropped to 4hrs now (still just safari)...

I never understood why the first inclination is to freak out and think you actually have less battery. Updates do a lot of stuff. Recalibrate your battery and 99% of the time it will be back to where it was, hell it might even be better then what you had if you have never calibrated it.

Retina MacBook Pro 2.7/16/512 battery at 100% went from 8:35 with 10.8.1 to 7:30 with 10.8.2 ... will wait a week before drawing conclusions :-D

Regards

Hows powernap on battery for everyone? I don't want to leave it on if it's gonna drain like 5% every hour or so.

well, iv not seen my battery (afer 2 full charges) report above 5:34.

iv just disconnected my MBP 2011, and its reporting 3:14, no joke.

its not on full screen, the brightness is about (75%)

gonna try turning bluetooth off now with lower brightness..

doesn't want to go about 3:49

how do i 'recalibrate' my battery??!

Not sure of battery life improvement yet (need more time), but my 2010 15" MBP GUI animations are significantly improved when using the discrete GT 330m. Mission Control animations are very fluid, swiping desktops etc are much better on 10.8.2. I'll test the Intel HD graphics and report back in a few hours or so.

5:45 remaining at 100% battery life.

Latest estimate for the download of the update is 27 hours! OUCH!!!

Can I get a few thousand people to stop downloading the update so mine might finish in some kind of short time? :D:p;)

Um, mine is doing some 'extra' updates that I apparently can't select not to do. It's weighing in at a rather hefty 1.7G.

Later: It's still at 27 hours... Apparently I need a few hundred thousand to stop downloading instead...

backup issues with time machine and ReadyNAS NV+, now mostly solved

I used the stock ReadyNAS time machine server for 10.8.1 and all was well. I just upgraded to 10.8.2 and backup is hosed. Time machine keeps reporting "searching for disk" and eventually dies with "The backup disk image “/Volumes/ReadyNAS/jrgs_MBP.sparsebundle” is already in use.". Its a ReadyNAS NV+ as well. Firmware 4.1.9 . Now FrontView is not even working. So I might hold off on 10.8.2 for the moment.

Safari 6.0.1 (under 10.8.2) is not displaying the FronView page, its missing all the numbers. But Firefox works. Frontview shows the backup service is fine, its the expected size etc.

PARTIAL SOLUTION
By reslecting the backup disk, its now backing up fine.

Once the backup completed, now Safari works on FrontView. I don't get that at all, but it is working now.

So 10.8.2 looks good to go to me, even if a few rough edges.

recalibrate. Any time apple changes something with the battery through software its never going to show the exact time until you recalibrate it because the battery is going off the charge that was already there there. IE. update and the battery when at 50% when it restarts before calibration software assumes that 50% is 100% hence the poor battery life, until you recalibrate it into thinking 100% is 100%.

The absolute LAST thing I want is Facebooks tendrils in my mac. I'm assuming there is a way to completely disable it, I really don't want to see the FB logo in my system. I find this a bit troubling.

Don't log in?!

Does 10.8.2 feature any unicorns, rainbows, or ponys? Anybody know?

Just opened my Retina from sleep and this is what my battery is reporting on 10.8.2:

Seems like the update is giving me lots more battery time, LOL!

This updated freaked me out. Selected restart only for it to hang on a white screen for 6mins, then finally restarted only to hang on the Apple logo for 3mins..... Late 2010 MBP. Everything seems fine though. Does this update fix WiFi issues?
