I wish..

They are seporate, but the question is: Should Messages and FaceTime be seporate Apps?

On Mobile it kind of makes sense to have them be seporate. Performance necessities, and the layout of the apps lend them to being seporate.

But on the desktop I feel like Messages and Facetime should be combined into the same application. It feels cumbersome, and can be confusing to many users to have them seporate. In this case (though not in Firefly) I am for unification. :)

My guess is that because FaceTime was originally going to be an open standard for any platforms to take advantage of, they wanted it to be separate for the brand awareness itself.

Who knows what's going to happen now given the patent issues in FaceTime.

Now they have pulled safari 6.1.2 for lion from their mac app store server.

The mountain lion one is still up though.

Unfortunately apple have not put this one on their website, so you will just have to wait till apple repost it on their server before the mac app store can see it.

Trust me I have done that cleared my cookies/history and cache I have also Flush DNS and still no fix even uninstalling MS and re-install does not help.

Hate to tell you this, but you may want to consider the following as your problem:

And I hope the thought of this is as chilling to everyone else as it is to me. Comcast is already too powerful, and the feds seem to be Hell bent on making them more so.

ridiculous commentary..

If the work you do is so important then using public networks is probably never a good idea. Period!

was thinking yesterday when viewing some of these ridiculous comments re how long it's taking, how critical people are, and how silly... CHILL.. go out and smell the flowers, play in the snow.. Apple will fix it. So it took a few days. Unless you work for Apple no one has an any idea what was involved in the time frame from discovery to the released update this AM.

28 years a Mac user-- first time this has happened! If you think you can do better with Windows, go back to windows.. You'll do a lot of waiting and worrying if your information was stolen, if you caught a virus..

Thanks Apple for getting this done. Instead of whining go to the test web site for go fail and see if your computer gets the all ok sign. Mind did.

Made my day

This update has made my day. The beachball issue when previewing CR2 images in finder is fixed!

This version of OS feels like a polished one, unlike previous updates.

It was not a difficult fix, and it should've been patched alongside the iOS patch. They didn't need to wait until 10.9.2 was ready. No excuse.

Ever developed some integrated coding? Just for interest.

Fixes need validation.

I'm liking the update. Seems like everything loads a bit faster on my new MacBook Pro. Felt like animation and things use to lag. Anyone know if there are improvements on graphics drivers? Thanks!

is anyone else having a hard time downloading the full 10.9.2 to create usb installer? - i keep on getting a error message, and the download never finishes.

yes, keeps crapping out for me too.. will wait until later when things calm down

I saw no mention of a fix for the SSL bug/majorfail in the list of changes in Software Update when I updated. Following the link to the update description doesn't show it either, but the link referenced in the OP in this thread does...

WTF is going on? Why are Apple seemingly selectively reporting/publicising this bug fix and aren't reporting it in their regular online change logs that you get to when navigating from the home page? Is this a case of trying to downplay the bad publicity they're getting?

Well, people are critical because the use their computers for critical stuff.
Not all of us have the freedom to tell our employers or customers that we have taken some days off, while we are waiting for Apple to fix our tools of the trade...

Security fixes generally get reported separately and appear at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1222 about a day or so after the update has been made available (to give some time for at least some people, if not a good number to update before the security issues are publicly listed--in quite a few cases the fixes are for things that haven't been publicly discovered/disclosed).

Well they only had 18 months to sort it. But only bothered when someone else made it public knowledge.

When the flaw started and when Apple learned of it is two different things.

Can you link to something that demonstrates when Apple learned of the flaw in iOS, and when they learned of it in Mavericks?

We know the flaw started with iOS 6 and with Mavericks, but when did Apple learn of it?

I'm not saying you are wrong, I really don't know.

On a separate note -- my App Store app is broke. The top buttons like "Top Charts", etc is greyed out. I know it is connected to the servers, but you can't click on any of these.

Anyone else having problems with Spotify application? Mine starts and closes right away :( need my Spotify to work.

If your tools of the trade are that critical you'll be paying Apple for immediate hotfix support with a short SLA then. Otherwise, belt up.

God I hope it fixes the issue with Microsoft Silverlight on Netflix where it stops streaming in HD (I doubt it) and also Apple TV needs a update where it fixes Netflix from snapping back to SD.

Yeah, I think that would more than likely be your Internet connection's fault (or somewhere in-between you and those places). Netflix and even Skype are designed to "snap back" to SD if your connection can't maintain the speed required. Otherwise, it would go blocky and/or stutter or even just pause instead. In short, I think you're barking up the wrong tree. My Netflix on AppleTV stays in HD just fine as does Netflix on both.

I hope it fixes the bug where all other bugs are fixed. I would also like spaces to return in 10.9.2.1.5.4.0.7

Personally, I like Mission Control (didn't think I would at first). It does two functions in one mouse hot spot (i.e. spaces + expose all in one). It's a nice time saver, IMO. Spaces by itself has a bit less clutter, but then you'd have to activate expose separately requiring either a key press, hot spot or gesture). I'm not against them offering preference OPTIONS to make it behave differently, though. One person's garbage is another person's treasure, etc.

Looks like Apple will have to sneak in another backdoor for the NSA, although more than likely their are a few more exploits we don't know about.

Well I doubt it would fix issues with those.

Actually it does seem to work better, before you could hardly zoom in or out using the 2 fingers 'scroll', seems to be working again in FireFox.

But another issue not fixed is the loss of scroll if you swipe to go back a page in FireFox. You have to quite FF then go into the Trackpad settings and un-tick the 'swipe between pages' function.

Seriously this is still happening for such a basic function, either FireFox or Mavericks is at fault here.

Hope they are working on retina UI lag too. :)

Initial impressions are that the Launchpad scrolling bug is fixed and the super annoying Preview scrolling bug where it pulled way beyond the start and end of a document is also fixed.

As is usual the 10.x.2 update is where you can feel comfortable upgrading from a previous major version of OS X. 10.x.0 and 10.x.1 versions are always for early adopters and beta testers.

I'd say Mountain Lion and even stubborn Lion users can feel pretty safe to upgrade now.
