Umm... forgive me if I just don't see it but the headline in this article explicitly spells out that the SSL vulnerability fix was included in this patch, yet I see no mention of it in the release notes in the general release notes or the security release notes... Also other sites are already reporting that the fix is NOT included in this update... which is right?

I have trust me I even called my ISP they tell me there is nothing wrong I complained to Netflix and tell me it is my ISP I tell my ISP they say it is Netflix and keep on going around in circles:mad:

SO ONE IS BEING A DICK AND NEED S TO ADMIT WHO IS AT FAULT!

i had a problem like this and i tried deleting silverlight and complete reinstallation etc but it didn't fix the problem....

what i ended up doing was deleting the netflix cookies (and cache too? i think)

i'm not a geek or anything but i think in layman terms what happened was the netflix cookie thought my silverlight was out of date or something, even though it wasn't, and until the cookie or cache was deleted/reset, it kept thinking that

......something like that.....

let a geek be more technical than me lol

Apple are uploading more stuff onto their servers as we speak.

There is now a security update for lion (which wasn't there when the thread started a few minutes ago).

I think it will be a while before this stuff goes up on their webpage.

Fix is included and Apple never have posted full release notes

My cMBP doesn't enter sleep mode either. Looks like they got rid of that "feature".

In fact, the power button doesn't do much of anything anymore. The box giving you the SLEEP RESTART SHUT DOWN options no longer appears when you press it.

Same here on my 2010 13" MBP

I mean I never really used that feature, but it's interesting that they removed it.

Does this finally mean I can stop limping along with Cisco's VPN dropping every 3 minutes?

Power Button

Looks like the Power Button has lost its sleep mode feature for me as well! Bizarre.

If anyone knows what's going on with that, drop a line.

No, as an immediate security patch, not a wait and bundle it with other fixes patch. This shouldn't have required four days more testing than the iOS version, especially given the simplicity of the mistake.
So you know what it would take to get it done for OS X? You must be on their OS X team then, right?

Heaven forbid Apple to fix vulnerabilities as soon as they can instead of waiting to bundle several updates at once several weeks down the line.

Come on, they waited 2 working days. I'm betting they already had 10.9.2 GM going through QA, and it was actually more efficient to do it this way.

Look, security is not a joke, we all accept that; but this isn't the massive exploit the media are making it out to be. To be practically exploitable, you'd need to become an intermediary node on the target's network (even at a public WiFi spot, this isn't easy - inter-node communication is typically disabled by the router).

It doesn't let some randomer half-the-world away remotely hijack your notebook.

Trust me I have done that cleared my cookies/history and cache I have also Flush DNS and still no fix even uninstalling MS and re-install does not help.

"Call waiting support for FaceTime"

What is that exactly? Would someone care to elaborate?

Also, where are the new blocking controls for iMessage and FaceTime?

Though these security leaks and such seemed so Microsoft'ish...Kudos to Apple for responding quickly.

Craig Fegerighi must have been on the edge....

Not being a smart ass here but how do we or you know that the fix is included if it's not actually posted anywhere that it's included? Is this based on the fact that logically they wouldn't release an update without including the fix or is there some place where we can actually see that the fix is listed as a component of the update? Is it listed in the notes in the developers portal or what?

Hmmmm

My computer still takes for-ev-er to reboot...

Oh and one more thing - I see that in the "New" mail I still have 5 On My Mac Archive folders which all contain the same things as the main Archive folder. Great... Thanks Apple, what ever happened to "it's worth waiting to get it right". Does TC now just put an "almost" in front of that last word when he wants to re-quote SJ?

For me it is welcome feature because sometimes I have pressed by accident power button while trying to delete something or increase volume :)

Hatters gotta hate. Heaven forfend Apple spend four whole days to make sure they get it right.

I'm not a hater. This was a major, major security flaw that prevented me and many others from working with our Macs out on public networks.

It was not a difficult fix, and it should've been patched alongside the iOS patch. They didn't need to wait until 10.9.2 was ready. No excuse.

Apple some days ago stated that fix for SSL bug is coming very soon so it came :)
