Umm... forgive me if I just don't see it but the headline in this article explicitly spells out that the SSL vulnerability fix was included in this patch, yet I see no mention of it in the release notes in the general release notes or the security release notes... Also other sites are already reporting that the fix is NOT included in this update... which is right?

http://gotofail.com now passes with 10.9.2 whereas in 10.9.1 it failed

Updated and everything works ok. GoToFail passed as safe.

If you have a 3rd Party SSD, and are using Trim Enabler, remember to turn the patch on again and reboot, as the update disables it.

Other than this, no differences or changes whatsoever on my 2012 MacBook Pro-

cheers!

Finder is still slow in showing items in column view  Waiting to see if there are still going to be random multiple 1/10th of a second beach balls...

I have trust me I even called my ISP they tell me there is nothing wrong I complained to Netflix and tell me it is my ISP I tell my ISP they say it is Netflix and keep on going around in circles:mad:

SO ONE IS BEING A DICK AND NEED S TO ADMIT WHO IS AT FAULT!

I'm betting it's a peering issue. In other words, the connection points at which Netflix traffic enters your ISP's network are congested. It's a very common issue, especially with larger ISPs. Try a commercial VPN. I use Private Internet Access myself (privateinternetaccess.com). It changes the route your traffic takes, avoiding the congestion. Netflix is unusable in my area without it.

I'm not a hater. This was a major, major security flaw that prevented me and many others from working with our Macs out on public networks.

It was not a difficult fix, and it should've been patched alongside the iOS patch. They didn't need to wait until 10.9.2 was ready. No excuse.

If the work you do is so important then using public networks is probably never a good idea. Period!

If you were being extra paranoid, which is the safer way to download and install the update / software update or downloading the dmg?

I mean, we're all technically compromised, right? What is the least risk? Are the dmg files all digitally signed by apple to prevent tampering?

The MAS.

Any of them should be safe as long as you're downloading from Apple's servers. The only thing to do to indulge paranoia would be to download the combo updater instead of the delta. Since it can update from 10.9.0, it installs more stuff and the thinking is that doing it that way could fix some corrupted files.

Interesting that my work machine running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 passed the test.

Wow, just wow, it only took 1,5 year and patch is there, that must be why a lot of people love this company, I suppose ;)

Woohoo! This update also fixed the UI lag (Mission Control choppiness) that I was getting on my rMBP 13" in the 1680x1050 scaled mode.

Previously, that mode was much worse than the 1440x900 scaled mode which was smooth.... but now it's way better.

Looks like the Power Button has lost its sleep mode feature for me as well! Bizarre.

If anyone knows what's going on with that, drop a line.
It's still there, you just have to hold the button for a second. If you hold it longer (about 3 seconds) the old dialog pops up. This is a welcome change for me since it was easy to accidentally hit that key and put the computer to sleep previously.

I upgraded my Cable Modem and noticed a great difference in speed and reliability. That is an option to look into. You can also have the cable company come in and test the line. Speedtest.net is good, but I think getting consistent network reliability may be your issue.

It was 4 days and they bundled it. No big deal.

My cMBP doesn't enter sleep mode either. Looks like they got rid of that "feature".

In fact, the power button doesn't do much of anything anymore. The box giving you the SLEEP RESTART SHUT DOWN options no longer appears when you press it.

You have to press a bit longer like half a sec and it'll go to sleep mode. Happy they did that... Hated to press it by mistake and going to sleep mode when all I wanted was to delete a character.

Nope. The flaw existed couple months. It was overblown few days ago. Apple should take care of it ages ago.

For me it is welcome feature because sometimes I have pressed by accident power button while trying to delete something or increase volume :)

As I understand it, the behaviour of the power button depends on how long you hold it down for:
(1) < 0.5 seconds - does nothing (so prevents accidental use)
(2) Between 0.5 and 1.5 seconds - sleep mode
(3) Between 1.5 and 4 seconds - dialogue box (sleep, restart, shutdown, cancel)
(4) > 4 seconds - forced shutdown

That is what I am getting on 10.9.2
