I'm still on snow leopard, but I'm contemplating upgrading.
I honestly carnt do with out spaces tho, mission control was one of the worst decisions apple have ever made in the os realm. So I'm on the fence.
All the other features are so inviting tho, it's a hard call

I'm looking forward to Mavericks. That being said:

2) Dual Monitor Capability for Full Screen Mode should have been implemented with the debut of the Full Screen Mode in the first place. Going full screen and having all your other monitors go grey is so ridiculous it should be considered a bug and patched in the Lions.

Have they fixed the full screen mode or is it still broken by design?

A lot of high end apps are full screen like that and if we can't stretch it across the monitors we will have to go to Windows.

The train.....

seems to be on schedule....;)

Hope we get a stable OS, with no too much bugs to fix. And working as intended/announced....:D

:):apple:

@KRivers Many of the "Maverick" features can be available in Snow Leopard starting with Tabbed finder. Just hunt around.

Mavericks seems pretty polished already. REALLY hope they change the reminders app design to more or less match iOS 7's.

I sure hope not. Reminders has got to be the ugliest iOS 7 app around. Seems like it was done by a developer who just read the book "Be a iPhone Programmer in 24 hours."

I hope it will still be optional to choose either way. Sometimes it's nice to focus on one single app, at a click of a button.

Hopefully Mavericks will bring back some of the responsiveness lost when Snow Leopard was replaced. Apple would have to do a lot to Safari to get me off Firefox but who knows?

When they added PDF viewing to Safari several years ago, that got me off Firefox

Mavericks Beta 6

Huge Changes in Mavericks Beta 6 I've noticed immediately:

- Mavericks - Seems like everything is so much smoother and faster.

- Finder Window - Finally fixes the finder window bc every time i opened, tabbed, or clicked on another folder i would have to adjust the columns, not anymore.

- Display Preferences - No need for QuickRes anymore, which you had to turn on with every restart and then have to adjust all the windows again. Now i turn on my rMBP and my screen is 1680x1050 without clicking anything and no need to adjust every window i open.

- Safari - Its so much faster and no more glitches.

Thats what I've noticed so far.

Given the common cores of OSX and iOS I am really wondering where is the ability to run iOS apps in OSX? It seems an obvious function.

I think it's because apps on the iPad are programmed for a multi-touch UI that would be a huge problem to overcome running on a non-touchscreen Mac offering a single point-and-click UI.

I imagine that some iOS apps might run "good enough" though, but who wants "good enough"? :)

I remember in the betas for Mountain Lion it had a circle that would turn blue when you had a notification. I wish it was still like that. Sometimes I forget I have a notification because of how it is now.

Yeah I filed a report and asked them to bring it back...They said it's been reviewed which likely means burned.

multi displays! better battery life, icloud keychain support to name a few...

in otherwords, why not?

Why even dignify that idiotic question? I've been using Mavericks on my home computer since beta 1 and I really like it. I'm looking forward to the released version as well.

I'm pretty sure they just increased the speed of a lot of animations. For example window resizing in System Preferences when loading a new section seems like twice as fast as before.

It definitely makes sense, animations can be used to hide load times but as load times decrease the same animations can increase the perceived load time.

Space switching (not using gesture which would impact the speed) also seems to be about twice as fast if not more.
Is this what's creating the whole "DP6 feels a lot faster" experience for everyone?

Tell me about it. And some of the bugs are obscenely obvious. For instance, on three different rMBPs, why does my freaking background image reset every time I reboot since 10.8.1? Ridiculous.

There is a way to fix that. I'm guessing you migrated the same user account to all three MacBooks? Google is your friend.

Eh. I see Apple's name Mavericks, and reject this in favor of Sea Lion, because Sea Lions are cool, and that logo with the seal on it was neat, and that name would have been a great way to transition out of cat names into other interesting creatures, and Mavericks is none of those things and only serves to remind us of how proud Californians are of being so in love with themselves, which honestly, after finally making it out of that state, I was really looking forward to not being reminded of every single day, thank you very much...

Time to whip up some Sea Lion wallpaper.

MacOS X 10.9 Mavericks

MacOS X 10.10 "Tin-Tin"

Or will they call it "Nuggets" instead, since Apple seems to like naming their NEW OS X Releases after NBA basketball teams? :)

LMAO what? Surely everyone knows what "Mavericks" is about by now. It's been hammered into peoples heads for weeks.
