I hope my wifi issues are fixed with this DP, previous one effed up for me (didnt have any problems in the first betas) :( and currently only have my this machine with me.

DP7 runs very impressively on my rMBP. I have no issues at all and the issues I had before were all solved. My only worry is Mail.app, especially with my Exchange Server account. It still doesn't seem ready yet.
Of course iBooks is still not ready yet, but to be honest I didn't play with it after installing DP7. Overall, Mavericks is looking really good.

Nope, only four of the releases were named DP but there were nine builds released in total. Looks like we're heading to about that same number again.

Nope? What are you objecting against? We are saying the same thing.

I agree DP7 runs very good.
I dont know if still freeze camera with skype on my iMac Late 2009

I swear, Apple's obsession with superlight typefaces has got to stop. They're ugly and unreadable.

I miss Apple's 2005-2008 style marketing. They had a great brand identity; they had the iPod and the Mac as their primary products, and they did them very well and actually liked and listened SOMEWHAT to us Mac users. Their marketing was brighter with the Aqua (and later, elegant plastic and subtly colorful Aqua accents on gray) and actually readable.

What are you one about? Mavericks doesn't use "super light" (I'm assuming you mean ultralight) typefaces.

Totally destroyed VLC. Hangs. Same with MplayerX. Whole system seems slow. Powering down and back up to see if it helps. So far looks COMPLETELY screwed up.

on DP 7 here and VLC (latest stable version) has no problem whatsoever

some apps that have some problem(s) with DP 5 and DP 6 now working great on DP 7 seems like near to the GM release

Full screen apps. Why is the "bar on top" never visible? It shows relevant information (battery status, menus for apps and so on). The purpose of the bar is exactly the reason why it has been created in the first place.

Now, when in Safari I go with the mouse on the top of the window and the bar "appears" including the bookmark bar. Everything "moves" down so that these new parts don't hide any relevant info.

Now, back to iTunes. If you go on the top, the bar simply covers iTunes' top part of the fullscreen view.

Huh. Interesting, good observation. Depending on my workflow/system, I need at least two displays which made fullscreen mode counterproductive. Your post prompted me to try fullscreen mode for iTunes and Safari on my Mac Pro's 27" displays. This is perfect for Final Cut work.

How should the menubar behave in fullscreen? As Safari or iTunes?

I wish they would allow me to modify autocorrected words. I use the ellipsis frequently and it compresses them to a smaller space. I could disable that in ML, but not in M. Sucks.

You mean when you type three periods it compresses them to an...ellipsis? :)

Is it true that you can't edit the autocorrect list any longer? I doubt that's right.

Is there a new font in the finder sidebar? Looks weird to me, the line height is totally wrong on the text in the sidebar for me, the text is 3-4 pixels higher up compared to its icons.

Take iBooks for instance, though there has been some small progress across the DPs, it's still a long way from prime time, and it is one of the big new features in Mavericks, so they can't exactly release Mavericks until it's ready.

iBooks is in a LOT worse shape than the rest of OSX, so it's possible they would release it as a separate download to 10.9 users at some point after it is released. Right now it's included with the 10.9 install but if it's not ready they can split it out.

What are you objecting against? We are saying the same thing.

You said there were four released builds of 10.8, there were actually nine.

Yes correct. In previous versions, you would go to language and text and uncheck the three periods under symbol and text substitution. Now that option doesn't exist unless they hid it somewhere.

yep finder is a new font and so is spotlight.

seems like one of those old school "terminal" fonts. i'm not a font guy so im sure someone knows the proper name for it.

it seems like an oversight, an odd one at that. these fonts don't fit into the overall aesthetic.

Case in point:
Full screen apps. Why is the "bar on top" never visible? It shows relevant information (battery status, menus for apps and so on). The purpose of the bar is exactly the reason why it has been created in the first place.

You do understand that's intentional and is working as intended? Don't confuse full screen mode with maximized window view.

Full screen mode means take up ALL the space with the app as much as possible, that includes removing the menu bar. You can hover your mouse on top to bring it down if you need. The goal is to focus on the content itself only, so no distracting stuff on top or bottom.

If you need to see the menu bar and/or dock, you can just maximize the app instead.

I know it'll cause massive server load, but aren't they going to want to release this alongside iOS 7.

With features like iCloud Keychain and Maps syncing between iOS and OSX, and changes to airplay etc. isn't it in their best interest to bring them out simultaneously?

Also, iOS 6 and OSX 10.8 came out at the same time, when there wasn't really the same need?

Absolutely not, half-ased features is not what they want to show off. The last thing they want to do is show off those new features on iOS only to have frustrated customers who can't get it to work properly on Mavericks.

They should take their time with Mavericks and release it when it is stable.

What are you one about? Mavericks doesn't use "super light" (I'm assuming you mean ultralight) typefaces.

It doesn't. Not in the UI. But in all the press kits, marketing material, and even the logo itself, are Myriad Pro Light and Ultra Light. Nowhere is Myriad Roman used at all.

Yes correct. In previous versions, you would go to language and text and uncheck the three periods under symbol and text substitution. Now that option doesn't exist unless they hid it somewhere.

You can now deselect this from the Edit menu under Substitutions. You'll get a nice list there including the option to stop replacing dashes. It's also accessible when right clicking on text in any cocoa app. The settings are now available at app-level instead of the previous system-wide settings.

I know it's stupid and petty, but am I the only one annoyed by how "Tags" no longer colors all of the text? (It now just adds a color dot.) heck I miss the OLD days when labeling something ment the whole icon got a color overlay.

I agree. This is the one thing I don't like about Mavericks.

They fixed an issue I had with graphical corruption in various parts of Mavericks. Most noticeable was when opening Disk Utility the left column would show random parts of the screen instead of the list of volumes.

I think a MacRumors record has been broken.

Not a single person has mentioned that they're either A. Still staying on 10.6 or B. Now thinking of finally upgrading :)

Anyway I'm impressed with this release. The most notable change is the Safari performance. Gone is the swipe to go back bug which would crash the tab and when you do go back it seems to load the page much quicker.

As a Hackintosh user, a new developer preview is always an interesting experience!
