I've noticed several cosmetic changes so far.

-iTunes: New Audiobook icon, New iCloud/iTunes Match download icon
-iBooks: epubs that are set to use iBooks as the default app now have an icon.
-Apple icon on bootup slides up and fades into the login screen Apple logo. Edit: Someone said this was in ML, apparently I need to restart my iMac more often.

Haswell MBP
The longer they hold it back, the more substantial the update will be. :)

– Haswell (all-day battery life)
– Intel Iris Pro 5200 (double gfx power)
– Thunderbolt 2 (4K monitor support)
– USB 3.1 (10 GBit/s)
– SSD (700 MB/s)
– DDR 4 SDRAMs
– WiFi 802.11ac

The new MBPs will be incredibly fast. :D

I take it reminders and Game Center are unchanged?

Pardon the question, but how can a wallpaper be 27"....?

I guess you meant the resolution is double of 2560x1440, which with apple mean a 27" monitor? :)

They simply created higher-res images: wallpaper images can be any size Apple wants to include.

People referring to 27" retina wallpapers are talking about wallpaper sized for a 27" display @ 2x. That's the size of Apple's iMac or a Thunderbolt Displays.

5120x2880. Which may not mean anything's coming this year, could be months away... but I hope so! I want a Pro with 27" retina display.

OS X Mavericks, which is expected to be released this fall, includes multiple new features like a tabbed Finder, full screen dual monitor capabilities, Safari improvements, and a new Maps app.

Tabs eh? Do they have dual-pane support? Otherwise, that means they still aren't even as advanced as XtraFinder and it works on Snow Leopard even.

I sure hope the dual monitor support is improved and not just for full screen modes. Having a menu bar for an application on your left monitor appear two monitors to the right is just plain freaking stupid and should have been corrected about 11 years ago.

Maybe 10.9 will fix the sleep problem they introduced in 10.8.5

Apple seems to be getting pretty good at screwing the pooch these days. They apparently don't test anything anymore. People should be fired for such massive bugs being allowed to roll out, IMO. How the heck could they not test the sleep function before releasing it?

Yes, multiple monitor support is vastly improved. There's no dual-pane mode, but I never used it with TotalFinder anyway, I didn't see the use for it.

My mid-2007 macbook made it thru mid-2013, woohoo. But it is stuck with 10.7 and I just cant be two versions of OS behind, makes me feel all twitchy. Prolly will get an Air unless a MacPro has a better chance of supporting future OSs.

I did the last update just so I could use more gestures on the magic trackpad. I hope Mavericks makes it easier still to avoid using the keyboard. Heck, just being able to read my iPhone's iBooks library on my laptop will be neat.

Im gonna keep the old macbook though cause I want to see how high I can get the cycle count on the original battery, at 1172 and still healthy.

Browser Scrolling

Any problems with browser scrolling? In DP6 and DP7 the scrolling works for a while them stops functioning.

If you ask me, it means we will see a 27" Retina Thunderbolt Display along with the new Mac Pro this year. Obviously if the Mac Pro supports 4K video, then a higher resolution display for people to use is likely to be necessary.

I have also noticed the 5120x2880 wallpapers.
I think that we will se HIDPI iMacs and thunderbolt displays in October.

I'm gonna bet it has something to do with this being a developer preview and not actually being 'released'.

if these where going to be changed dont you think it would have been mentioned on the mavericks preview site?

Apple updated the iOS 7 images on their site when they released newer betas, so things can change. In addition, the site is a preview, not the final look of the update.

The sleep-wake bug has been resolved *on the two macs I'm testing it on* since DP7.

Still keeping an eye on it though..
