Does anybody know how to disable the icon chat on the menu bar? Maybe with a command line on Terminal?

It showed up there by itself and the option is gone from the Messages app preferences

Hold down the Command key and drag it off.

* Here is a side by side look at the DP1 and DP2 settings icon. I like the new one a lot better! More symmetrical.

The new one looks too small compared to the other icons, imo:

- Apple logo now on menu bar now grey
- Widgets are gone

My widgets are all still there... you sure it's not a bug for you?

The grey Apple logo in the menu bar looks really off compared to the black menu text :/

Well, as much as I might not like it, if I still have this 2010 iMac, I'll install Yosemite when it's released.

I hope Apple fixes:

the bug hiding the /Users folder

the bug which does not allow me to use Terminal (to fix things like the hidden Users folder and the trash that won't empty - it's that boot.efi file - none of the usual trash empty commands work and no access to terminal)

better use of memory compression to possibly thwart beach balls

and make the User's library visible again.

The /Users folder bug was addressed and fix a long time ago, and you can make the ~/Library folder visible by selecting "Show View Options" while in your home directory, then check the option. Why can't you use Terminal? Most of those issues are fixed or seem to be matters with your system. Clean installs should absolutely address them, a better look into third party app's may point to something that may help.

Wait, how come you have different icons in the first screenshot? Photos, contacts, reminders, notes are all different on mine.

I am assuming he changed his icons manually, because mine are different too, and I have not changed any of mine.

Modded a few icons with one's I found online or created. New Core App icons will show in system settings, etc. :)

If I had only waited 10 more seconds

The top right bar in Messages (where it shows recipients) has changed colour, its now a lot lighter.

I'm just not a fan of Spotlight now. I hate clicking it and then I get a pop-up. BOO!

Yeah, what if we need to refer to something already on screen right there where it pops up? Can we move it? Is it modal? Does it obscure the rest of the screen contents with any fancy effects we don't need?

Woo-hoo! Bring on the dark theme (can't stand the "Miami Vice" 80's colors, the blue folder icon makes my eyes bleed)

I agree. I told Apple that Cyan reminded me of Microsoft and it shouldn't be used for OS X. They said they are aware of the issue so I'm guessing the color will change before release. I don't know why they don't let the user colorize the folders in the first place.

All widgets that I had on disappeared. The one that was set off is still there. If theres a .pref file somewhere maybe it can go back to normal if I delete it

All widgets disappeared for me except Calendar and Reminders... I didn't even have Calculator turned on before and it's gone - maybe a restart will fix it...

Hold down Command and drag it out of the menubar just like any other apple menu bar item.

When I first installed the update I got a notification that Continuity is no longer available with my iPhone. But it never worked in the first place. Been reading that people are having more success with it now, but still nothing for me. Any ideas as to why I would have gotten that message and how to get it working?

Not sure if anyone else has seen this but the 12 hour time setting is now the wrong way round - i.e. tick 'Use a 24 hour clock' and you get a 12 hour clock and vice versa. Clicking this will workaround any issues with the date/time area having an unusual gap.

+ I'm still getting the issue where the networks drop down will show me having 1 bar of LTE signal when my phone actually has no signal.

It's not modal, but you can't move it.
