Good news, FCPX 10.1.1 works without needing to launch the executable, nothing broken aside from Motion 5.1 not launching at all.

Also noticed Safari and iTunes aren't forgetting my login's; no longer have to constantly enter my information. Alas, no dark theme.

iMovie won't

Not sure if anyone else has seen this but the 12 hour time setting is now the wrong way round - i.e. tick 'Use a 24 hour clock' and you get a 12 hour clock and vice versa. Clicking this will workaround any issues with the date/time area having an unusual gap.

The time completely disappears if I don't have 12 hour time on atm

I always, always use an external drive to test out new OSes.

Geez people. Just use Disk Utility to create a second partition on your internal drive, then put the test OS on it. When you're finished with it, and/or they come out with a stable enough version for your production drive, just erase the test partition and bring it back into the fold. Pretty simple stuff.

I agree. I told Apple that Cyan reminded me of Microsoft and it shouldn't be used for OS X. They said they are aware of the issue so I'm guessing the color will change before release. I don't know why they don't let the user colorize the folders in the first place.

Labels as color tints used to be in some classic Mac OS version, I think. It's something they should go back to.

What happens to customized icons when this version is installed? Does the update leave them as they are? I have quite a few. I'm way more visual. Which is why Microsoft's design motif sucks for me. And now Apple has been going the same exact direction, eliminating "useless" things like button bevels in order to leave bare text and < in place of them. That's very Microsoft.

+ I'm still getting the issue where the networks drop down will show me having 1 bar of LTE signal when my phone actually has no signal.

I think there's an issue with 24 hour time. There's two settings one in date & time, and another in language & region. They must be conflicting because if I enable one, or both, I get a blank time in the menubar. I have to stick with 12 hour time for now.

The stars missing from Time Machine doesn't seem quite right.

I like the new Settings icon but I still think it should still be called System Preferences.

I think it'll be a while before we see the dark theme. It wasn't even functioning at WWDC, they only showed a picture of it.

When will they give iOS a dark theme? Or even icons and buttons with distinctiveness and readability?

Does it fix these two mavericks issues

Does it still have the "finder lag" after every restart/reboot that mavericks exhibited?

Also, does spotlight reindex after restart/reboot?

Thanks :)

Has anyone tried If Adobe CS5, I repeat "5", still works in Yosemite?

Won't upgrade to CC and the cs6-train is already away...

- Time Machine: Time Machine has a redesigned interface that removes the stars.

My God, its (not) full of stars! :(

Good one, but continuing the visuals that look like they were developed by 6th-graders the notifications still turn into a puff of smoke when you dismiss them.

I turned on 24-hour time checkbutton, but in the Time preferences I couldn't change the hour pulldown item (in the short, long, etc. settings) to "00-23". It just stayed "7". And, yup, the time on the menu bar is blank. That's an odd one.

DP2 on my 2012 15" MacBook Pro with Retina display, and iOS 8 Beta 2 on my iPhone 5s---

-Handoff is now working between the two.

-Calls placed within Yosemite ring on the other end, but if the recipient picks up, nothing happens, it just disappears from my screen and the call ends.

-No SMS from iMessage.

-Generally more smooth but still getting pretty low FPS on Mission Control.

I can't get spotlight suggestions (wikipedia, App Store, iTunes store etc) on spotlight neither safari. It was like that on DP1 too. Does it work? Or maybe is it region based?

They've evidently done some work on Safari too - I'm no longer getting issues where, for example, Facebook scrolls down the page while you're typing in chat.

Well, as much as I might not like it, if I still have this 2010 iMac, I'll install Yosemite when it's released.
...
Mavericks has been an utter cluster for my Mac. I've never had this many problems with an OS in my nearly 20 years of owning Apple machines. I did clean installs too which folks here kindly helped me with. But I hope to heck Yosemite makes up for all headaches etc.

And if I have new machine by then, I hope it'll be the smooth sailing I'm used to.

Dude, if you're looking for stability & non-headaches - don't install & rely on a major OS update (Yosemite) on release, as your day to day OS. Especially one with as much change as we're seeing in Yosemite.

Go for update after 4 months or so, so everyone else can experience and identify all the unintended bugs waiting (as well as application support catching up to the new OS release) and Apple has time to fix the biggies they didn't know about. Frankly a year isn't enough time for Apple to debug these OS releases. JMHO...

No, it's still the same. Here's a side-by-side comparison of most major icons. Looking for changes in this update.

Why are they dropping details and reducing contrast? How do colored circles have a better context for reminder / to do lists than check marks? How is "3D" on an icon better than a compass? It's a map app. Not a 3D app. 3D is just a feature, not a primary function. The loupe on the preview app now looks like a mug of quicksilver coffee, rather than a loupe. And how is the PhotoBooth icon an improvement upon visual meaning by eliminating the booth??

Seriously, the visual design at Apple is going backwards.

I also can't drag and drop files with my trackpad on DP2, it was working fine with DP1
