I'm having issues with continuity. I can't receive or send a call. I've got a 2012 Macbook Air. I've power cycled both the Macbook and iPhone. Anyone have a solution?

How come when I highlight a phone number on the mac and click call, it opens up FT, but when I go to contacts a pick one to call it goes through....

Yes. Phone calls work via handoff on my late 2011 17" MBP. Didn't do anything particular to get it working. I also don't have the handoff option in beta 3 (but did in beta 2).

To test, I called my iPhone from my office phone, and got the popup on the MBP to answer (answering worked).

I also typed out a phone number, highlighted, right-clicked and selected "call" and that worked.

Only thing I did was set the same iCloud account (which happens not to be my developer account) for the phone, iPad and mac.

Do I understand correctly that you are running a Late 2011 17" MBP and you are able to get phone calls to work through continuity?

My understanding was that since we have bluetooth 2 instead of 4 this was not possible. I do not even get the handoff option in Beta 3 system preferences that was present in the Beta 2 (though phone never appeared as an option at all). Further, besides getting text in the message.app on the MBP none of the other continuity options worked or even appeared.

Can you maybe explain how you have activated these things on the MBP as I have not been able to do so (though they do show up fine on the 2014 MBA).

Thanks

Disappeared on my 2011 MBP, remains on the 2014 MBA. I wonder if it's related to presence of bluetooth 4?

Have they fixed the jerky scrolling in finder? ie. scroll down (with trackpad) through a long list of files and it spontaneously stops dead in its tracks, forcing you to re-scroll - over and over again - until you get to the bottom of the list?

Nope, still jerky (with mighty mouse).

New QuickTime Icon... Woo-Hoo!

I really wish Apple would just update QuickTime Player X to a point where it is functional enough to replace QuickTime Player 7. At least add most of the QuickTime Pro features for FCPX users as an option. QuickTime 7 is still good for quickly editing or cutting down video and audio files without having to open a NLE application and being able to export them in a variety of formats. I fear an eventual OS update that won't run QT Player 7 at all.

I would gladly pay $30 to a developer if they made an app in the App Store that does what QT Player 7 does with an updated/cleaner look and also be 64 bit.

QT Player X still lacking many useful features and the fact that Compressor is still 32-bit just continues to make me question Apple's long term commitment to FCPX and the entire pro line of software.

Hmmm - that sucks. This should be UI101 in the 'inertia' scrolling world
Every release I look for it to be fixed, but no.

Oh, and why does Wifi sometimes need to be turned off and on to allow it to see networks (when bringing back from sleep)? That didn't get fixed with latest Mavericks build either.

Neither of them are issues for me.

Is it in a specific Finder view or something like that that cause the bug?

Timed Dark Theme

Something nobody has mentioned but I think would be nice, is to have the dark mode enable at a specified time of evening. Of course reverting back in the morning. Just a thought.

Memory Pressure

Looks like they got the memory pressure bug fixed

It's just the usual 'columns' view where you go into a folder (eg. 'MyWordDocs' and have a long list of subfolders - any of which you can click on to see the contents in the far right column. The problem is when scrolling down the list of subfolders (there are hundreds) so you click a folder in that column and then two finger swipe up on the trackpad to scroll down the list to get to the folders at the bottom, and when scrolling it stops dead for no apparent reason. It might be a trackpad thing because I find viewing pics (in Preview) is also quite painful (eg. try and flick through the pictures quickly using swipe on the trackpad).

I cannot update!

For some reason the update is still not showing on my app store! I am on beta 2 of Yosemite. Someone, help!

I assume you are a developer and have access to apple's developer forums.

There is a direct link in those forums from which you can download the DP3 delta update in a browser instead of the mac app store.

Other developers are having similar problems and this direct link solves the problem.

We can't post the link here on macrumors though.

Continuity phone calls now working on iMac

Just upgraded to OSX Yosemite Preview 3 on my late 2009 21.5 iMac. Phone calls now working flawlessly with continuity on the iMac from my iPhone 5S running iOS8 Beta 3.

Attached, doesn't look too good.

Menu bar looks a bit too dark. I'd prefer they tone it down to match the shade of the dock, which is a nice and unobtrusive dark translucency.

Too dark and contrasty is distracting in its own way, as much as a light menu bar. That screenshot shows three different elements with different shading brightnesses. It's not unified at all. +1 for system-wide dark mode :)

Anyway I applied to test the public beta so I can provide my feedback then...

mac dev center down

The mac dev center is offline now.

When you login, you get the message

"We’ll be back soon."

What are they doing now?

DP3 is still on their server and still accessible though the mac app store.

That's basically what I said as well in another thread here! :D

At this point I find the Dark theme more distracting than the Light one. The contrast is just way too big.
