Could be worse - you could order direct from Apple. We are large educational users and I've yet to see the Apple order arrive within a month of ordering to the correct address.

I mean - do they want our business or not?

I have always had good timing with direct from Apple ordering.

Did you make a huge order?

I think that Guitar Center may be a bit uhhhh LAME! in simple ordering.

Just when you thought that the thread was dead!

Bringing it back to life.

Ok i just got my new Alubook.

Who are the insane guys that said this PB was cool or not hot,
This thing is a freakin TOASTER!

My hands are on fire.

I am looking for feedback from other users on the heat.

My unit is great other wise.

No wobble
No stuck Pixels
Not too noisy, fan rarely comes on.

But the heat, oh Lord, this isnt a laptop, it is a desktop.
with an external keyboard and an external LCD!

My 17" is just slightly warm. It never gets hot. The old Intel I used to use would burn your legs if you were foolish enough to put it on your lap.

My rev. C 12" definately gets hot (appears to be the hard drive). I picked up a CoolPad to help the situation, but I have not used it yet.

Upon opening the box, I had no dead/stuck pixels, but I now have 1 red pixel on a blue background, but it is not red on white (e.g. Word) or steel backgrounds (Finder). I have tried massaging it with no success. Does anyone have massaging tips?

Overall, I am happy with the PB. I am getting 3.5-4.0 hours with Bluetooth on and using APX.

my powerbook 15" never gets hot. Warm at the worst of times, but even then its not VERY warm, and definantly not warm enough to be anywhere near uncomfortable. I would guess that the bottom of it reaches 30-35 degees celcius (about 100 fahrenheit, for you metrically challenged wierdos) and its quite nice on a cold day. :D

My CPU gets warm but nothing to worry to mucg about I hope!

I have noticed only once my fan has kicked in and thats @ 60 degrees celcius.

On average my CPU temp is aroun 38-48 degrees celcius

What temperture is to hot ?
