Could someone share their already downloaded version? /joke :)

This is great. I've really been enjoying Messages on our iPhones here, so this is the logical next step.

I really get the impression that Apple is heading towards the more nimble faster and regular releases for OS X, ala Chrome.

Awesome!

Only negative I see is that it doesn't seem to sync prior iMessages from iOS devices.

How does it keep someone from Spamming random people? Can you only send messages to people that have authorized you? Is there a way to limit iMessage to only receive messages from people on your contacts list?

I really don't want to get iMessage spam on my phone because someone wrote a quick Applescript.

Same. I tried it with a friend and it started a new conversation that is not currently syncing with my iOS devices. Understand it's beta, but still you'd think it's a key feature.

I tried it out. works great. Fullscreen feature is annoying and I hope they will improve. At the moment app uses small vertical strip in the middle, trying to do a facetime call throws back to the desktop...

It might be me, but I see this as a first sign that Apple is preparing it's current Mac software for tablet devices. Maybe, just maybe, we are going to see an iPad in 2013 or 2014 running Mac OS X.

If anything, I think it's the opposite. You'll see Macs adopting a version of iOS, consistent with Apple's trend of dumbing things down, wanting to completely control the user experience and wanting users to only load apps via the app store. But I hope I'm wrong.

so when is iOS 5.1 beta 4 being released or GM ?

was released january 9th (beta 3) last time i think. mean what has it been? 5 weeks?
