I'll be happy when the "cutting edge" and "forward thinking" company called Apple provides us with lossless music and starts playing with no questions asked other formats of music beyond their own and MP3.

Kodak created Instamatic Cameras long ago as a vehicle to sell their film. Kodak also over time provide more types of film. Maybe Apple should get the clue.

Yeah, Apple gave you the App Store so talented developers can create apps to satisfy the needs of people who feel too elitist to use common lossy formats on an iDevice (i.e. 'let me carry 10 FLAC songs and fill up my iPhone completely, at least they'll sound good!').

Ugh. Stop being so awkwardly condescending.

Of course he wants it when it's ready. He wants it because rumours were that it'd be ready in the first week of March.

Second, 7.0 has been out for almost 8 months with crappy performance. Taking 8 months is not 'rushing'.

There is nothing awkwardly condescending about saying getting it right is important. You can criticise the timing. If you've actually used the earlier Betas you'd understand why it's taking this long.

Let's speculate, if Beta 3 was released with all the issues I (and everyone else who beta tests encountered) you'd complain...

iOS 7.1 has been better than 7.0 the whole time, they each have there own bugs but 7.1 runs better generally. If they want to take this long to beta a .1 release why don't they just make a 7.2. iOS 7.0 is not nearly as stable as iOS usually is.

Anyway, I still think it's releasing on Monday. Friday could also be the GM release.

No no no, this isn't what I wanted to read!

It's safe to say iOS 7.1 isn't coming soon. Although perhaps it's still going to be released by the 31st of March due to the in-app purchase purchase policies.

Damn!

Not another person. iOS 7.1 is needed update by many users. This update will fix the springboard crashes that A LOT of people are having. Ha. "it's only 7.1". You kind of people make me laugh!

what springboard crashes...from jailbreak? if so..don't jb then...geez...lol...

Hahahahahaha people are in freak out mode over a .1 update.I don't get it either.

it's the end of the world...ahem...i meant ios...

Ugh why is 7.1 taking forever. I hate 7.0.x because of all the crashes and instability. Come on Apple, hurry up.

If you're not seeing the crashes, than good for you but that doesn't mean many folks are not seeing app and springboard crashes all over caused by the unstable and rushed iOS 7 release. It is very easy to make it happen if you have a 64-bit device and none of them have anything to do with jailbreaking.

Just go to the iOS 7 forum here and read through all the hundreds if not thousands of reports of users seeing springboard reboots and even more app crashes.

95% of the springboard and app crashes have been fixed since iOS 7.1 beta 2 was released. That was released nearly 4 months ago and yet Apple still haven't released it to help those users who can't access the iOS 7.1 betas.

Weird

2 iPad mini's, 2 iPod Touch's and a iPad Air running in my familie.
And we have never encounter the sudden reboots and/or crashes some talk about.
All devices running iOS 7.0.6, and are being used intensely.

It's hard to believe that when you've got an Air. Those things freeze or reboot every ten minutes.

I have an Air and the Safari performance is shocking, tabs always reload, and the browser closes itself frequently right in the middle or reading something.

I wouldnt care about iOS7.1 if the performance of iOS7 wasnt so pathetic.

Im starting to tire of Apple, luckily for them I dont like Android or Windows Phone very much so I guess I'll stick around and hope the quality returns to where it used to be. Hopefully iOS7's performance is just a bit of a one off.

You must be a product of the new math generation where 2+2 doesn't add up to 4.

One can get quite a bit of flac files on an iPhone. Then again some prefer quantity over quality. To each their own.

My Air has rebooted maybe twice since I got it last year. Safari on the other hand is a POS and should have been fixed months ago.

How does it crash every day? I never had my iPhone nor my iPad crash every day :/.

I'm asking myself the same question I have a 5 and just upgraded from an iPad 3 to a rMini, my sister has an 5 and just upgraded from an iPad 2 to an Air. Neither one of us are having or have had crashes on our 5s or our iPads (the new ones or the old ones).

I understand the frustration these 7.0.x are causing i had most of these exact same issues! if you can't stand it that much pay for a dev account or register your UDID.

IMHO after reading numerous articles on ios 7.1 it will not be released for awhile! if anything we will be lucky to see a GM by next week i am beginning to think maybe another beta for apple to test out this whole "15 Minute window" thing.

Sugar coated?

I am waiting for Jelly Bean, or Cotton Candy, or whatever - if my phone vendor ever decides to release an update.

Yup, my predictions were right, 7.1 will not be released until May.

Great Apple should skip this update to iOS 8 instead. lol
Even my Galaxy s4 KITKAT seems to receiving updates quicker than Apple ios 7.1.

Good old John Gruber, looks like someone at Apple just made him look like a ****!

only if you have a troubling outlook on life which requires you to put people down for not being right all the time in order to feel good about yourself.

me, i could really not care less.

More like a few hundred (or thousand, depending on the size of the iPhone storage), but that's a nice under-exaggeration.
