Did you have any issues before?
No major issues like display or touch. I HAD this odd bug where the camera shutter sound was extremely faint, almost muted. BUT if I took a portrait photo, the shutter sound was much louder. (I mentioned this in another thread) Changing "System Sound/Haptics" did nothing.

Anyway, this seems to be fixed now. 😀

Just finished, no hiccups. I didn't back up my phone, I just jumped right in!
How were you able to download without a backup? I’m running BigSur and it is making me backup prior to downloading (then advising I don’t have enough space for the download on my Mac and not allowing me to update). Thanks for any help!

Plugged my 12 Pro (on 14.2) into my MacBook Pro and it said theres an update available, so as others have mentioned, its downloading as I type this. Hopefully it fixes the messages bug, as that has been driving me INSANE and making people think im ignoring them lol. Also I noticed when I scroll in the settings app while in dark mode, for a brief moment as I'm scrolling the lines dividing each section flash purple very faintly. Hopefully it fixes this too!

Great timing! My iPhone 12 Pro Max arrived today, and the first thing it did after initial start up was update to iOS 14.2.

BTW, the thing is a beast. So fast. Gorgeous screen. And it's size is not off-putting at all (my one worry). Admittedly, I'm 6'2" so I'm not one to be bothered by slightly larger stuff.

Getting a 12 Mini today.

I’ll be restoring from my local backup of my X running 14.2.

Will I run into any problems due to the build being different on the Mini (assuming I have to update from what it ships with before a restore)?

I’ve vague memories of having an ordeal with a new phone in the past due to a disparity in iOS versions, both of which were updated to current.

Updated my mini just now using my MacBook Pro. And no it doesn’t solve the touch gate.

it was a 5.42gb file

It asked me if I wanted to make a backup of my iPhone and I said no. Then it proceeded to download and update. I’m also on Big Sur.

The update also appeared on my iPad (!) Pro 11" (2018) and my iPhone 12 Pro... Both were on the 14.2 GM.

For me something is off with the Max battery. It looses over 10% battery over night but the battery report shows nothing running.
It’s also set up as new and all apps swiped off before going to bed

Just updated OTA from RC to this latest build on my 12 pro. Hopefully notifications will, I don’t know, work!!!!

That's really weird. The update appears on my Mac, but when I click "Download and Update", nothing happens. I can do that repeatedly, but to no effect.

EDIT: Fifth's time's the charm, I guess. It's finally downloading.

iPhone 12 Pro owner here. The 14.2 updated showed up for me this morning, was still on 14.1.

After updating, notifications for certain purchases started showing up again. For example, when I bought a coffee on my way to work this morning and used my AMEX card, the notification popped up immediately. Was happy to see them again. These kinds of wallet notifications were broken during a 13.X update (for me at least, even when using my old phone) since sometime over the summer time.

I've got an iPhone 12 Pro on 14.2 and am currently downloading the update via my Mac. For what it's worth, it's a 5.46 GB download.

Strange! 12 Pro Max, updated to 14.2 on release day and update not showing on iPhone. Only way to get update is to connect to iMac and update. Updating as we speak...

Does anyone know if If it fixes anything over the old 14.2 not 14.1?
I can’t tell yet. I am getting some SMS group messages but I don’t know if that’s consistent yet. I will say battery life seems a bit better and 14.2 (first release) already improved battery life on my 12 Pro.

I'm keeping an eye on that as well. My 12 mini seemed to be draining faster than I expected, even when the phone was sitting idle. Over a few hours, I'd lose 15% of my charge doing nothing. So I'm hoping this update helps.

Yeah I saw that as it was taking oddly long to download and finally start the install connected to my Mac also. It's a super large size, but it fixes a few things, cool!
