It overrides the default Safari and won't delete on updating 10.15.6 update, so if you're not sure, don't install it. Just use Tech Preview as it's standalone app

Ugh, they still haven't fixed the annoying "significant memory" warning that pops up on some sites like Twitter and Facebook, and KEEPS COMING BACK over and over when you dismiss it.

I've reported this bug multiple times already!
You need to report this to Twitter and Facebook, not Apple.

Can it block video ads on youtube? All of this has gone to complete **** since they decided to move the downloads of extensions from the browser to the App Store. All my trusty add-ons stopped working and I had to replace them with much less functioning ones or just forget them, because there are no substitutes in the App Store.

Also, is Top Sites gone? That is my fav feature of Safari.
OMG, now I'm laughing at the Safari users who are laughing at the Chrome users! The App Store is an abomination.

Slightly unrelated, I've basically given up on bothering to find useful iOS apps due to the disease of "free" apps that have in-app purchases, or pro-upgrades that aren't apparent until you go to download it. There needs to be separate sections for: genuine free; genuine pay-once-upfront; subscription; in-app-purchases; and so on.

I'm really liking this. Running smooth as glass on my MacBook Pro 16". I like how it shows the built in trackers blocked without using 3rd party software. It blocked 27 different trackers from MacRumors.com. Am going to use it for the next few days to see how it impacts or improves battery life.

Does it show a preview of each tab on Catalina, or that’s a feature only for Big Sur? Thank you!

The bug isn't that the memory usage is reported, it's that it is reported repeatedly.

Once I see that notification and dismiss it, it should not pop up again for that entire session. I already know the page is using significant memory. I don't care, since this iMac has 32GB of RAM.

Other browsers don't have this problem and also work fine on those sites, so this is an Apple problem.

Lol, every single browser has had that for years. Tell you more, Safari's is still so subpar it's laughable, you can't even toggle it on/off based on individual sites, ads still present on many sites, a vpn feature would be nice for the "so claimed" privacy. Dev tools crash more than Windows Vista.

Seriously.. no wonder they put half baked trash, look at the kind of feedback they get from users.

Apple don't even bother inviting us, we would send you a list of bugs and UX fails within 30 minutes of use. You clearly know where to get your feedback it seems.

Geez man take a freaking breath and take your vapid garbage out of here. I know other browsers have it, I said I was glad to see Safari have it baked in. Now bye bye and go be miserable somewhere else.

Damn it's looking great now, not sure I'd call that feature "baked in" but it's definitely snappier.

Same issues as Safari Technology Preview. Another complete failure for Safari.

o CPU Goes up to 100%
o The 'X' is clickable on all tabs - This is bad as its extremely easy to close tabs. COPY CHROME and only have the 'X' appear on the selected tab.
o The top of the window changes color depending on the tab you have open. This completely negates having dark mode as when you're on an all white page its makes your window white.

Apple will never get this right. JUST... COPY... CHROME. Its not rocket science.

Not a failure at all
No problem here currently running at 10% CPU and average 30%
Favicons in all tabs
I use often X to close unwanted tabs, not at the front. This is your problem, not Apple's
WTF would they copy Chrome?
Take a deep breath!

Why do you think this is a bug? Surely an accurate warning on memory hog websites? But I do not know the answer?

I've installed it. Looks great but I didn't realize it would override my Safari. Unfortunately it is too late.
Do you know how to uninstall it ?

I would very much rather they not “copy Chrome” on this, thanks. It’s nice to be able to close a tab I determine that I don’t need without having to first switch to it. I want it to be easy to close tabs.

Runs really good, especially with limited Internet bandwidth (i have 8 Mbps at work) and limited CPU on a Mac mini.

What business would want a third party to track IP addresses, log in information using caching occurring external to their intranets firewall? Google doesn’t make secure browsers, just a nice way to data mine what you do. 👎
Excuse me ... i don´t use Chrome - just answered the comment to copy chrome!
