Not a word in this article about what has changed from last beta and what to focus on on this release. Macrumors seems to just copy/paste the apple pressreleases every time there is an update on betas and other updates.
Today, Apple shared the latest update to macOS [name, version, build number]. This update largely focusses on bug fixes, stability, and under-the-hood improvements. It also introduces 12 new emojis.

How much more stable is this version now? Many beachball hangs?

This is NOT emulation code!

I know, but that's how buggy and laggy the app is. Feels like an emulation of the iPad version.

I like the macrumors forum, but the articles are too often sparse and without much substance, especially the mac news. (In my opinion)

More indepths articles, like in the good old mac days, please!

Not to dogpile, but this is just a post on a beta release announcement. I don't think it should be used as an example of article standards for Mac news.

okay, thx, how it works with Mac Pro mid-2010?
does it make sense now to buy Mac Pro mid-2010 for video editing?
and which GPUs in them are Metal-capable?

Today's second public beta is the same as the third developer beta, released earlier this week.

No it isn't. DB3 has build number 18A326g and PB2 has build number 18A326h.

Just like how DB2 isn't the same as PB1 despite others saying they are. DB2 is build 18A314h whereas PB1 has build 18A314k.

Then when DP3 came out PB1 users were saying "Why can't I get the DB3 update? Isn't PB1 the same as DB2? Hence I should be able to get DB3 at the same time as those on DB2".

Then I have to say to them that the PBs are NOT the same as the DBs. Hence the PBs will update at different times. So they won't get DB3 at all. They have to wait for PB2.

Maybe they're gobbling and praying that no functionality gets lost (= the greatest merit of mehpgrades these days)

Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming macOS Mojave update to its public beta testing group, one week after seeding the first macOS Mojave public beta. Today's second public beta is the same as the third developer beta, released earlier this week.

Beta testers who have signed up for Apple's beta testing program will be able to download the macOS Mojave beta through the Software Update mechanism in the Mac App Store. Subsequent betas are installed in a different way, using the Software Update icon in System Preferences.

Those who want to be a part of Apple's beta testing program can sign up to participate through the beta testing website, which gives users access to iOS, macOS, and tvOS betas.

Potential beta testers should make a full Time Machine backup before installing macOS Mojave, and it should not be installed on a primary machine because betas are unstable and often have many bugs.

macOS Mojave's main new feature is a systemwide Dark Mode, which gives Mac users a new way to view the operating system. A revamped Mac App Store makes it easier than ever to discover great apps, while Dynamic Desktops give you wallpapers that subtly change throughout the day.

An improved Finder window with Gallery View, Sidebar, Quick Look, and Quick Actions makes it easier to manipulate, edit, and organize your files, while Desktop Stacks organizes all of the files on your desktop.

The Apple News, Stocks, Home, and Voice Memos apps have made their way to the Mac in Mojave, and for the first time, you can use Siri on Mac to control HomeKit products. Group FaceTime, an iOS 12 feature, is also available in Mojave and lets you chat with up to 32 people at one time.

Apple is keeping your data safer than ever with new security and privacy improvements, and Safari in macOS Mojave makes it much easier to track you through share/like buttons and via your system configuration.

macOS Mojave is compatible with 2015 and newer MacBooks, 2012 and newer MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models, the 2017 iMac Pro, and Mac Pro models from late 2013 and mid-2010 and mid-2012 models with Metal-capable GPUs.

Mojave will be available in a beta capacity for the next several months so Apple can work out bugs ahead of a fall release.

Anybody here using Ulysses under the Mojave beta?

Particularly curious about the non-subscription version, which is still working fine under High Sierra...

Still runs slow and boggy on my 2016 MBP. the kernel_task process is out of control, using up to 500% of the CPU for two hours now (nothing else running).

It's pretty good on my late-2016 13" MBP w/TB. The first Time Machine backup failed, so we'll see how this one goes.

So far, it's better than expected.

Buy a new RX 580

OK, Time Machine backups fail consistently. I can't get it to complete.

Filing feedback.

@jclo Either this is a typo or Apple most certainly is not staying true to their word on privacy ;)

Mojave is looking to be a super release of macOS. Since I upgraded from High Sierra on my late 2015 4k iMac it has been silky smooth and amazingly stable for such an early beta release.

Dark mode is nothing short of amazing. If only there was a way of hacking Dark mode on High Sierra for my mid 2011 iMac which unfortunately cannot run Mojave.

Decided to go for it and install this on my production laptop - Dark mode is absolutely gorgeous, especially in Safari - and I really appreciate having Home and News apps on macOS finally (even if it isn't perfectly emulated)

Also Safari seems snappier.

Is APFS for Fusion Drives included in this beta?

I formatted my fusion drive with APFS during the High Sierra beta and never converted back. It can’t get any worse with the Mojave Public Beta.
