Typically that's the case, but once in a great while they find something that needs fixing before the general release and they issue another GM.

Scary that it took until the Golden Master to find something significant enough that couldn't wait for the tune up version we will inevitably get in a few weeks.

They must have found a major issue that needed to be addressed sooner then later.

Oh boy. We are in for a wild ride.

That would be a serious flip by Apple, the page where they gave out the download code specifically said that we would get any future updates through MAS. So If there are any bug fixes in these new builds I would completely expect them to release an update for those who are behind.
Apple will do just what they did with 10.11: send an email telling beta users to be sure that they are running the release version of the operating system. Apple has already released an update for whatever bugs were found in the earlier GM candidates: 16A323, downloadable through the App Store. There is no new code to redeem to get this update.

I sure wish iCloud would actually be useful on a professional level, I'd sign up in a heartbeat and pay Apple. It doesn't work across multiple platforms, sync with professional apps like Office 365, and plenty of other shortcomings. Not too mention, so many of my customers I collaborate with (even though they use Macs) Dropbox is the easiest solution. "Deeper iCloud integration" really doesn't do (bleep) and you might as well turn it off.

How did macrumors come up with Sep 20th release date ?
I wondered that too, did some googling... apparently, the same day as the iPhone/Watch Rodeo, the 7th, they quietly updated the Sierra webpage on apple.com to say Available 9.20.

Apple today released an updated golden master (GM) version of macOS Sierra to developers, a week and a day after releasing the first golden master following its September 7 event. The golden master represents the final version of macOS Sierra that will be released to the public on Tuesday, September 20.

The golden master update can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center at this time, and it is not clear if it will be available through the Mac App Store. The new GM seed is build 16A323, while the build released last week was 16A320.

macOS Sierra is a major update that brings Siri to the Mac for the first time, allowing users to conduct voice searches to quickly find files, look up information, and more. New Continuity features offer an "Auto Unlock" option for unlocking a Mac with an Apple Watch and a "Universal Clipboard" for copying text on one Apple device and pasting it on another.

Deeper iCloud integration allows files stored on the desktop or the Documents folder of a Mac to be accessed on all of a user's devices, and Photos features deep learning algorithms for improved facial, object, and scene recognition. There's also a Memories feature for displaying photo collections, and Messages has rich links, bigger emoji, and "Tapback" response options.

Apple Pay is coming to the web in macOS Sierra, with payments authenticated through an iPhone or Apple Watch, and new features like multiple tabs, Picture in Picture multitasking, optimized storage, and revamped emoji are also available.

macOS Sierra will be officially released to the public on September 20 and it will be available for free to all users with a compatible Mac. For full details on all of the new features included in the update, make sure to check out our macOS Sierra roundup.

Absolutely, I've had 16A319, 320, 322 and today 323. They've been updating every (few and sometimes 1) days.
As centracore says, just download Sierra from the Mac App Store each time, it will always give you the latest version.
Just check developer.apple.com downloads page for the build number of whatever is on the Mac App Store.
Don't keep trying to redeem the code, that won't help you, you already did it.

I'm still on 19. It's weird, because in the past they've done subsequent App Store updates before the public release, but not this year. The changes must be pretty minor I would think, but I hope this doesn't mean that GM users of the non-latest builds won't be able to update to the release version or that they'll stop signing the final GM and we're stuck at a prior release without doing a manual reinstall. :(

I'm using the Public Beta on an external SSD. Makes sense that the Developers should get the latest version. I downloaded this the day after the GM was announced on 7 September, which means I'm stuck with 320. If folks downloaded the Public Beta today there may be a good chance they get the updated 323. Maybe the AppStore, which always lags, will have it available in a day or two but it's so close to launching the public version, I wouldn't be surprised if we never have that 323 update available via the AppStore.

Just for anyones info. Tried to update via the App store. I looked at my Purchased, it said "Downloded", I tried to re-download from Apple's Beta site, "Key already used". It's no biggie, this is so much better than Yosemite I'm running on my Mac mini late 2012.

If it said downloaded you still have the old installer somewhere on your system. Either delete it, or copy it somewhere like an external hard drive and then remove the drive and delete the installer from your computer.

Then go to purchases tab and "Downloaded" should change to "Download". Click Download and the new build will start downloading.

If you still have the original installer app (in /Applications, and called "Install macOS Sierra"), you need to delete it first. Then, run the Mac App Store and option-click on the Purchases tab. The "macOS Sierra" item will have a grey "DOWNLOAD" button. Click that to download the latest release from Apple.

If your button says "DOWNLOADED", you should run the steps found on this page: https://computers.tutsplus.com/tuto...ng-mac-app-store-download-problems--mac-50439 in the section called "Apps Incorrectly Show Up as Installed".

Thank you. I forgot about that, whenever you delete an AppStore App it becomes available for install or in the case download. Worked!

Just redownload the installer and reinstall.

Nope. That's not it. The new build has the same verbosity. You're just seeing the effects of the new logging system.

Thanks I wasn't aware of the new logging system but I looked into it. It appears there is a problem with its implementation because say for example typing into Mail is very laggy which generates a lot of log output, but typing into Messages is not and does not have as much log output. Maybe in a real world system it is generating so much log output it is constantly flushing to the database, causing the lag?

Maybe we are experiencing another serious failure in a new feature like with discoveryd.

Managed to do 4k@31Hz with HDMI 1.4b and DisplayPort 1.1 on my 2015 Samsung SUHD TV just by using SwitchResX [AMD].

InDesign CC 2015 crashing on launch.

Adobe, why are you the worst? You do this every year. You're a developer. Presumably, you have an Apple Developer account and you've had access to the Sierra betas for months. But I probably won't be able to upgrade to MacOS Sierra until 2017 because you've held a grudge against Apple for so long I can't even remember why.

Just updated through MAS with no issue. Now on 16A323. Lets hope it fixes the screensaver and bluetooth issues.
That apple can't even connect their own keyboard and mouse properly is a mystery to me.. 2nd or 3rd GM.. unreal!

No issues here with any of the Adobe products. Just launched all of them together and they work just fine.

Clearly that's UX douchbuggery.

Without knowing that it is clickable, I had been relying on System Report -> Software to get the build number.

Why would Apple hide the build number in the About box?

Its been like this for many years.

I'm running A320, and when I go to the store and clicked "purchased" it just says "downloaded." No new version to update to. So same.

As stated several times, you need to delete the old download first.
