Yep they accidentally released a debug build as the GM, it was highly unusual but the Xcode GM had the same problem so something really weird is going on within Apple's release team.

Anyone with Sierra can check if they have a debug build by running Console, the GM outputs about 10k lines of debug output in 2 minutes.

Damn. And I just installed build 22 this morning. It took almost as long as Windows XP or so. But I just checked and this build is the one with the debug info apparently. Oh well... to redownload and reinstall it at night.

Following the tips on this page: https://computers.tutsplus.com/tuto...ng-mac-app-store-download-problems--mac-50439
Specifically the section for 'Apps Incorrectly Show Up as Installed' did the trick for me (deleting various app store .plists). Thanks for all the tips! I hope this helps someone else with the same issue. I now get the proper Download link for macOS Sierra.
Thank you.

What a drag.

Maybe this is why it became impossible to follow the logs.

Yeah, just re-read all the comments. Nothing came up in Updates so I'm trying to re-purchase of the software from the MAS Purchases section.

On my About this Mac, it doesn't show a build number? Just says Version 10.12?
Hey Mate

There is no delta update for any previous GM build you may have.

You need to re download the whole 4.7GB again to obtain 16A323.

If you click on 10.12 when your on about your Mac it will then show you your build number in brackets.

If this is the case today's build is also a debug build because I got over 10K messages in under a minute.

Are you sure that's the case and that this level of logging isn't normal in Sierra? I know they changed the logging subsystem; most logs no longer go to disk and thus don't hurt performance as much as they used to.

Just fired up Console, under Devices My iMac, over 78,000 messages in under 2 minutes>

Thanks mate. Just did the update and is on the 16A323. Unfortunately, the bug I was still having in the original GM is present...

I can pair my BeatsStudio Wireless to my laptop but can't play music through the BT connection. This was working in the last beta, but all of the GM's are having no luck.

Done and done (before posting my problem), but no change, even after reboot. Any other ideas? Note I am already running 10.12 Sierra 16A319. Could it be that the Mac App Store sees that (the installed OS) and is therefore giving me the grayed out 'Downloaded'?

I'm having the exact same issue! So frustrating.

I'm running A320, and when I go to the store and clicked "purchased" it just says "downloaded." No new version to update to. So same.

Just downloaded the new version from App Store. It's different from the one released last week. btw mine is Public Beta GM.
Hmm, I'm also on Public Beta, but I've tried re-downloading it twice today and I keep getting v 12.0.4.3, which is build 16A312a

And I've rebooted, FWIW...

Big whoop. Without a hearty PC to run it, this OS will stagger and run like garbage. We need a new professional mac desktop.

I don't think there is any need to re-download and install the new GM build, Apple will give us an update path through MAS if/when necessary because that is what they said they would do after installing the GM. There may not even be bug fixes in these new builds.

In general, you will need to have the last GM candidate in order to get updates. With 10.11, there were several GM candidates and only the last one, which was the release, was offered 10.11.1 or any other subsequent updates.
There are definitely bug fixes in these newer builds; whether most people will find them is a different question.

Apple today released an updated golden master (GM) version of macOS Sierra to developers, a week and a day after releasing the first golden master following its September 7 event. The golden master represents the final version of macOS Sierra that will be released to the public on Tuesday, September 20.

The golden master update can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center at this time, and it is not clear if it will be available through the Mac App Store. The new GM seed is build 16A323, while the build released last week was 16A320.

macOS Sierra is a major update that brings Siri to the Mac for the first time, allowing users to conduct voice searches to quickly find files, look up information, and more. New Continuity features offer an "Auto Unlock" option for unlocking a Mac with an Apple Watch and a "Universal Clipboard" for copying text on one Apple device and pasting it on another.

Deeper iCloud integration allows files stored on the desktop or the Documents folder of a Mac to be accessed on all of a user's devices, and Photos features deep learning algorithms for improved facial, object, and scene recognition. There's also a Memories feature for displaying photo collections, and Messages has rich links, bigger emoji, and "Tapback" response options.

Apple Pay is coming to the web in macOS Sierra, with payments authenticated through an iPhone or Apple Watch, and new features like multiple tabs, Picture in Picture multitasking, optimized storage, and revamped emoji are also available.

macOS Sierra will be officially released to the public on September 20 and it will be available for free to all users with a compatible Mac. For full details on all of the new features included in the update, make sure to check out our macOS Sierra roundup.

I cannot download it I get an error saying my redemption code has already been used. I downloaded prior release using same method just fine. Wtf.

You need to re-download it from the Purchased tab in the MAS, no new code needed.

That would be a serious flip by Apple, the page where they gave out the download code specifically said that we would get any future updates through MAS. So If there are any bug fixes in these new builds I would completely expect them to release an update for those who are behind.
