its 11.1.1
I got that part, I was just confused as to what the point actually is? It was just odd to see the news article posting that Apple updated the beta release when the GM was released yesterday. I can see the beta being used by developers. For the rest of us, not sure what the point is.

I don't understand this. El Captian GM was released yesterday to the public. Why is Apple sending updates to the Beta testers still? Why aren't these beta testers using the GM street version?
It wasn't the El Capitan GM that was released yesterday that was around 3 weeks ago however the GM and Final Public release are all but identical.

GM Build no. 15A282b

Final Build no. 15A284

Basically if you are running the GM you practically have the Final Build.

Lordy. Years back the term "GM" only meant Final build Release. :D
Well I downloaded and installed the "Final Build" yesterday. I guess on some level it makes sense to continue being a beta tester if you're going to be active in reporting to Apple about any bugs.

I have a problem with PB, I have been on the PB (public beta) since day one on my MBP. But the update isn't showing for me in App Store. I dowloaded the beta profile again from apples website, but still nothing. I checked on Apple.com how to unenroll (just to check if I still was in the program) so if you go to System settings - Appstore there should be a option to Click the “Change…” button next to “Your computer is set up to receive pre-release Software Update seeds.”

But I don't have that button anywhere? And I have installed the beta profile once more, but still nothing. And yes I have restarted my mac. Anyone that has a solution for this?

Thanks.

Edit:

Im currently on 10.11 Beta (15A278b)

A big question is whether 10.11.1 helps with any of the issues with AU plugins and other audio issues. Sounds like so far, probably not.

The GM released yesterday was 10.11.0.

This beta is of 10.11.1, the NEXT version in development. Obviously anyone who is a beta tester but not a developer can choose not to try any more betas if they're no longer interested in testing them.

Have you downloaded the full installer from the App Store?

For many of us the GM was running worse than the betas. That's another reason to continue to use the new betas, which have been pretty good so far.

Did I say that? I'm saying someone at Apple felt adding emojis was important but not fixing some basic, productivity-killing network issues that have been present in OS X for years.
Yeah, you said that. They have more than one employee, they can do multiple tasks at the same time. They're not picking engineers from the network team to draw emoji.

Cuz child like emojis are more important than having a OS that works flawlessly!
What are we thinking?? (roll eyes) LOL

Of course the people working on the emojis are the exact same people who work on core OS functionality, and when they are doing emoji stuff, other parts of the OS are not being worked on.

Tim Cook walks in the office and goes: "Hey you two there, drop the Core Storage and filesystem code you've been working on, I need you to draw some middle finger emojis ASAP!"

Yes, you'll need to get the release version installed if you're still on Public Beta 6.

When I click on download on El Cap in App Store it says that I'm already on that version, should I download it anyways and install?

I just hope a few GPU bugs which cases some Photoshop problems will get fixed. Which appeared in El capitan. THough I'll wait for the final release this time around

Does it fix the colour picker problem I've had with iWork 09? (Switch from the new pencil picker to another and back and the pencils are gone).

Also, do iMessage notifications show contact detail yet. I just get phone numbers.

Need to restart I suspect...

The only problem I have seen is connecting to Exchange. I hope in the next couple of updates, it gets fixed. Focus on getting that middle finger emoji tested in beta and getting that released. Outlook 2016 as a workaround for now.
I use Exchange on the Mail app. No issues at all.

Nope. NI plug-ins still hanging or crashing Auvaltool here. At least NI sent out an email the other day letting us now they are aware of the issues and are working on it.

ANyone have an issue with the machine re-booting after a power fail even though 'reboot' is turned off in System preferences. Happened to me last night with power fail in my neighborhood. I think it's very bad as our power will fail then flicker on and off two or three times before stayng down and I do not want it hammering the iMac power supply.
