"Recently Added " is new ... no crashes here so far .... And the icons have been slightly tweaked from previous version of iTunes 12.

I'm actually appreciating the "Recently Added" section in iTunes 12. It matches more with Apple TV now.

You could've saved yourself some time hiding your playlists. Judging by which Alkaline Trio albums you own i can say you have a pretty terrible taste

I listen to it when I need help getting over comments like yours ;D

The system sound when altering the volume incrementally (the click click click) is no longer working in PB2. Anyone else?

The audio feedback is now disabled by default. You have to turn it back on in System Preferences > Sound if you want it.

Your internet is so fast.

If you are using a beta version of Mac OS X AND a beta version of iTunes, it would probably be best NOT to do something as fragile as restoring the software on your iPad. It also sounds like your are using the Yosemite beta on your main computer, which also is not a great idea.

Using beta software is like playing with fire. You might get burned.

Really? Because I have no problems running the Public Beta on my main machine. Yes I have Time Machine backups.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates this new iTunes 12 release? I mean seriously, where is the color? It's so hopelessly boring looking...

I am not the only one who does not hate the new iTunes. In fact I kinda like it considering contents should take priority, iTunes must be as plain as possible until it completely disappear and only the contents remain. I just hope they make the navigation flawlessly.

No, you're not alone.
In an unexpected turnaround, I just bought a pair of sunglasses.
I wonder if after seeing Yosemite, my subconscious influenced my decision?

Anybody having the issue of the definition not showing up when using the Look Up feature?

So...I guess I will ask again...

Can you install this PB2 release on top of an existing DP6 install, and everything works OK without a glitch?

Is the PB2 release an improvement over DP6?

Is PB2 a lower "for public" release, and DP6 is actually a newer build?

I'm running DP6 and don't know if I should try the update, that's why I am asking.

Thanks.

OK. DP6 is 14A329f and PB2 is 14A329r

Doesn't seem like much difference but I do not know what the f and r mean. Could they be exactly the same build?

PB2 is a higher build number therefore newer, but it's probably very similar to DP6. I would sit with DP6 and wait for DP7 or GM.

As explained by another poster, you've switched tracks. My question is - are you an officially registered developer? If not, how did you get DP6? Through an unofficial source? If you are an official developer, you never needed to sign up for the public beta.

Actually, yes...even if you are a developer, you have to sign up for the Public Beta program to get the Public Beta releases. They only distribute the Developer Preview releases though the Apple Developer website, not the Public Betas. You can't download them from developer.apple.com - To get the Yosemite Public Beta releases, anybody who wants them can register on the special page with their Apple ID. But even registered developers have to sign up for the Pubic Beta program to get the Public Beta releases.

I know, it doesn't really make sense. And both releases are delivered via the Mac App Store. If you are a paid Developer ($99.year), you have to go to apple.com/developer and get a "Redeem Code" which forwards into your Mac App Store and redeems for a Developer Preview release download to your account. It's all tied to your Apple ID. Your Apple ID is your developer login if you are registered with the developer program.

So, that's how it works.

Spotlight Stopped Working

Anybody else found that spotlight has stopped working? The people over on reddit are the only others ones I can find talking about this. Since my update to Beta 2 Spotlight is completely dead. When I try to launch spotlight after a reset the app crashes and the icon disappears. This is the first thing that has made me regret trying out the beta :(

You can switch the default behavior in system preferences (as others previously indicated) or hold the shift key while toggling volume up/down.

Yosemite is a bit better than iOS7... but yeah, too much white space makes things a little harsh.

Odd, I signed up for the beta 1, installed but didn't get the last DP6 update, updated to DP6 and now I don't get this one either.
You can only use one at a time, the public beta or the developer preview. So had the public then went to DP6, which got you out of public, now without the public update 2. Revert back the the public unless your a dev.

Kind of wondering when they're going to change the spinning beach ball to something that fits the overall design - it'd be interesting to see, I think.

So iTunes 12 doesn't have a button for the Mini Player?

That sucks! :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Beta 2 is only showing up for me in the Purchases list but not in updates, but even after pressing download nothing happens.

How stable is it? Would you put it on your Dailey driver?

I'm using it as my daily driver. Only thing that really bugs me is a slow Youtube. And those stupid clock icons in notification center. They looks dreadful and absolutely nothing like the ones in the keynote.

Notification Center clocks

Yup, still unable to fix those clock icons. They're driving me nuts.
