Although I agree the sound was iconic, I really prefer the more subdued tone of the new sound. I always found the older sound to be a little too strong and distracting when playing over audio content.

I agree. I like the new sound better as well.

Hmm... Is there a way to redownload PB2? I just want to make sure every file was downloaded and installed properly....

Must have been closing programs or something the first time, because everything works fine now.

Tricky question. Depends on what you do with your daily driver. If you put food on the table with it, I would not recommend. If you just use it for personal stuff, like browsing, documents, photos, etc. it's more than likely okay.

I run Yosemite (Dev build) on a separate partition, and it has gotten pretty stable for me. I'm not planning on replacing my main partition until public release, however, because I have been moving from late dev builds to GM releases for the last three OS updates, and I want to do a clean wipe of my machine this time.

The improvements to terminal are why I am using yosemite on my main machine. I have run into very few problems since my initial install.

I don't even have a sound when I change the volume.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it was a setting which was suddenly turned off.

I can deal with a new volume feedback sound. I just could never deal with a boot sound change. That should NEVER change that sound.

iTunes 12 update today is crashing instantly when trying to restore an iPhone or iPad.

As soon as it detects a device in recovery mode...instant crash.

Thanks Apple. Beta or not, you just bricked my iPad because of this.

Why did you connect it?

We're in definite agreement on that one :)

However, I'd be interested if Apple wanted to remaster the sound though with more dynamics and clarity. I mean keep the same chord, but I'd love to hear a more crystal clear version of it.

Weird.. I'm on DP6 and My iTunes looks like this (notice differences around downloads button in top left, and icons in top right area)...huh.

If you turn on the feedback while changing volume, it's a much quieter noise now, a dull wooden knock.

You could've saved yourself some time hiding your playlists. Judging by which Alkaline Trio albums you own i can say you have a pretty terrible taste

Sorry, read your post wrong... that's odd. Like the other person said, it says "All Albums" but it is actually sorted by artist name. No clue why yours isn't  maybe, try restarting iTunes?

edit - This is mine

I like how it looks. Really focuses on the content instead of the iTunes UI itself

My problem

I have a 2008 iMac, and what I get is a limited time for stability. If I let it go overnight, by the morning the 8GB.of RAM is completely over flowing and everything's like molasses. Reboot, everything's fine.

My MacBook Pro is now showing the dedicated Nvidia 650M card in 'About This Mac' where before it simply said Intel Graphics 4000. Does this mean it's only just recognised my laptop has a dedicated graphics card?? One application said it had adjusted graphics settings due to the graphics processor in the computer registering as having been changed!

Everything was working flawlessly for me on my 27" iMac, with the exception of the random wake freeze. After the computer woke up from sleep, it was completely locked up, but I could move the mouse around. Only holding the power button would turn it off. I can't duplicate it on command, but it happened a couple times a day.

Hopefully the public beta 2 fixes this.

Fixed main issue, missed another

PB 2 fixed the main issue with my MBPrt, in that PB1 rapidly depleted the battery and heated up excessively. Thanks.

My second problem is the little click-on symbol in iTunes that automatically sent you to MiniPlayer. If I am missing that somehow, I would be grateful to be brought up to speed.

I think it's Command-Shift-M for the mini player now.

Sleep problems/kernel panics

With the Beta 1 I had problems waking the computer from sleep. Had a few kernel panics when attempting to wake computer. Has anyone noticed this issue with the Beta 2 update?

This update has just enough GUI improvements that my eyes are not screaming at me any more. Not sure exactly what all they changed, but the overall look and feel just seems a bit better.

I'm still not in love with it, but it is just good enough to get along with.

One other thing that I noticed is the Time Capsule now gets the external HD that is hooked to it to show up without having to run Airport Utility first. That was an ongoing issue for me.

What I have noticed so far is Safari. Many people posted that PB1 Safari was waaaaay better. For me, it was not. It was slow and now it's not. For now that's all I notice.

Transparency seems less annoying as well. It' wasn't so nice on my cMBP.

What? Im trying to restore my iPad through iTunes.
Gonna try Xcode instead.

If you are using a beta version of Mac OS X AND a beta version of iTunes, it would probably be best NOT to do something as fragile as restoring the software on your iPad. It also sounds like your are using the Yosemite beta on your main computer, which also is not a great idea.

Thanks Apple. Beta or not, you just bricked my iPad because of this.

Using beta software is like playing with fire. You might get burned.
