Works for me and I just chose a random video from whatever they recommended.
Huh, wonder what my issue is. Was working fine before updating.

Edit: won't play in Safari Tech Preview either.
Edit 2: works in Chrome. They definitely did something with this beta, may not affect everybody but everything was fine before updating.

iCloud syncing still an issue with this version?
Been using since beta 1 and haven't had any iCloud syncing issues (and haven't heard of any widespread issue), but if you report it with the bug reporter Apple can hopefully investigate to see what might be happing with your machine/account.

And based on the last beta's, this one will introduce a whole bunch of new ones.

Regression testing isn't exactly a core competency for apple apparently.
I've tested each year, and many years they were dreadful where popular apps didn't work at all or major functionality broke which was aweful (but of course to be expected for a beta). Where this year it's been insanely reliable with the few bugs I've run into and reported have mostly all been cosmetic. Apple gets yelled out from both ends. If they focus some years just on bug fixes and reliability improvements, everyone says apple is doomed, and is boring and can't innovate, etc. On years they focus on new features, people say they shouldn't focus on new stuff until they fix what's broken. So no matter some people will never be happier, but for the rest of us, pretty happy with the balance of new features and bug fixes. Though some ui glitches or little bugs that sometimes I see don't get fixed for several years which is frustrating but I also understand there are probably a million small little things and they have to prioritize.

what maybe of note. just Downloaded a full installer and it has dropped back to version 16.0.17 created sept 25th. The last full installer was beta 6 version 16.0.18 created august 29th.

YouTube is working for me. Just rebooted on the beta update.

Music still won't respect normalized music volume, wonder if there's any way to re-analyze that stuff...

a full installer will follow once they make it a public beta. This is a dev beta

my guess is most people on here are using standalone Macs and not MDM enrolled devices. For Enterprise use BS has so far been pretty poor.

Apple cares very little about PlayStation and Xbox is. That has nothing to do with their profit margin‘s, and they don’t care if they release a product on the same day as Sony or Microsoft.

I doubt very much they pay it as little consideration as you have just done. Very ignorant opinion.

Other expensive consumer electronic releases will impact the direction of consumer spending.

Eagerly waiting for macOS Big Sur! The one feature I am really looking forward to is seamlessly able to connect my AirPods from one Apple device to another. With working from home in pandemic times, I often have to switch from picking up calls from my iPhone to my Mac laptop and back.

The latest full installer, as you see in your screen shot, is version 16.0.17, which is beta 9 (verified that has exactly the same file size as my beta 9 full installer). The full installer for beta 10 has not been released yet.
I can't say why Apple decided to play around with the app version numbers, but the fact remains that 16.0.17 is for beta 9, and 16.0.18 is for beta 6
