Yikes! At this point I don't think we'll see GM/public before mid November, but still released before the end of the year. It will probably coincide with the shipping of the first round of ARM Macs in November or December.
in this release, it appears the "power" icon has disappeared from the main screen. Data info is there in system preferences, but NOT there with WiFi, BT, settings and other icons.

Beta 10 has been excellent on my MBP 16, no major issues.

The only thing I'm having issues with is playing videos from Amazon Prime? Is anyone else able to?

UPDATE: Looks like a bug with Safari 14, I'm able to watch Amazon Prime via Google Chrome.

If the build has gone from C to G does this mean it has more bugs and is less likely to be released? And if so, why release a more buggy beta than the previous beta 9?
Because it's a beta, and it needs developers to try their apps with it, to find out all the various bugs. Bugs are good in beta's.

Since BETA 7 the releases have been getting worse. Nothing we are reporting is getting resolved and more issues occur every BETA. I'm not sure they even monitor Feedback Assistant because we haven't seen one response. These aren't small issues... we are having eGPU disconnects, crashing and much more across many computers with similar configurations. We have also reported Mail and Exchange issues which are easy to replicate but absolutely no resolutions or responses. As a software company we are sympathetic to managing customer expectations but we can reproduce crashing problems almost a will.

Perhaps your company should not use beta software as their daily OS

The only real thing I've ever admired about MS is their choice of wallpapers in Windows 10 has been top-shelf, well-chosen. Apple's wallpapers have always been crap subjects. Nice photography, but crap subject matter.

if you’re one of those people working with files on the desktop then photographic backgrounds can make file names a bit hard to read. That’s why up to OS 9 and most of OS X (pre macOS rebrand) the wallpapers featured simple patterns, shapes and waves.

2020 MBP 16" — Youtube is OK is Safari (integrated graphics, 2 external monitors via Dell D6000), including 1080p @60Hz HDR.

Late 2013 Macbook Pro - updated from beta 9 to beta 10 overnight and on first login I got a notification about an Intel system extension being blocked which I haven't seen on any of the previous betas... any idea where I could find any more details about what that extension was as clicking OK just dismissed the notification without any more information.

I had the same issue and investigated what system extension it was and it turns out it is the Intel HAXM driver (Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager). As it failed to load you should be able to remove it easily by just deleting it from /Library/Extensions/intelhaxm.kext

That is what I did and after reboot it also will no longer show in the System Report under Disabled Software. To verify it is this extension, you should be able to see it right now in System Report under Disabled Software.

More info own the system extension here: https://github.com/intel/haxm/wiki/Installation-Instructions-on-macOS#Removing_Intel_HAXM

Hopefully they will fix continuity. I am working from home and all of a sudden my MacBook disconnects from my iPhone, like 10 times a day...

If anyone thinks this is ready they are wrong. Once again a beta regression for those you use Cisco AnyConnect VPN which is probably the majority of Enterprise customer as the SSO Extension is broke, no Kerberos tickets. This was working in beta 9 but AD authentication was broke, now AD working but no Kerberos.

True enough and I do work with files on the desktop. I never had any issues with either Mac OS or Win 10. Bing images are ok except for the stupid watermark which is why I don't use them.

All video services working for me. Flush your Safari history, library cache and reboot if needed.

Would be better if Prime, Netflix etc were apps with the same Picture in Picture mode that iPadOS has when switching between Spaces. Maybe porting those streaming apps to ARM Macs will be quicker.

They've busted YouTube videos in Safari. Nothing will play, just keeps giving error codes.

I had this issue as well, but someone had posted a solution for it. Turn on the developer menu in Safari and then in the Develop tab -> Experimental features -> VP9 SW decoder on battery - enable

This fixed it for me and YouTube videos immediately play. Supposedly it also turns on 1440p and 4K in YouTube, but haven't tried it yet.

I've seen reports that drag / drop of photos to finder (from the Photos app) is not working in beta 10, can anyone here confirm? If correct, I will hold off going to next PB for now.

Apple today seeded the tenth beta of an upcoming macOS Big Sur update to developers for testing purposes, two weeks after releasing the ninth beta and nearly four months after the new update was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference.

macOS-dev-beta-10-feature.jpg

The macOS Big Sur beta can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center and once the appropriate profile is installed, subsequent betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.

macOS Big Sur introduces a refreshed design to the Mac operating system, overhauling the entire look from the curvature of the window corners to the dock icons to the system sounds. Everything features a lighter and more modern appearance. There's a new customizable Control Center that mirrors the Control Center on iOS devices, putting key system controls right at your fingertips.

The Notification Center has been redesigned with iOS-style widgets that are available in multiple sizes, plus there are more interactive notifications that are now grouped by app to make it easier to see what's going on. Safari is faster and more battery efficient, plus there's a new start page that can be customized with wallpapers and sections that include Reading List and iCloud Tabs, which makes Safari more tailored to your individual usage needs.

Tabs now support webpage previews, there's a built-in language translation feature, Chrome and Firefox Extensions can be ported to Safari, and YouTube supports 4K video playback. There's also an option to choose which sites an extension works with for greater privacy. Speaking of privacy, a new Privacy Report feature lets users know the trackers Safari is blocking when you visit websites.

Messages has been brought in line with the Messages app on iOS with support for pinned conversations, mentions, inline replies, and Memoji creation, plus the built-in search feature has been overhauled to make it easier to find links, photos, and conversations in the app.

Apple redesigned the Maps app to add support for Look Around, indoor maps, and Guides, which are lists of notable attractions, restaurants, and more created by trusted sources. Maps can also be used to generate directions for cycling routes and electric vehicle trips that can be sent to iPhone, and shared ETA updates are now viewable on the Mac.

JUST RELEASE THE DAMN THING ALREADY

The latest beta has problems with minimized aplications like Safari. When I minimise one window, open a new window & try to reopen the first window, the machine briefly freezes. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this issue.
