Apple Releases the iPod Touch 2.0 Firmware Update

Now, I can't help but to sit back and watch it back up my iPod after all this waiting.. And I realized something very, very important..

I can't listen to any music 'til it's done. :eek:
 
for early iPod Touch adopters, now it costs $430 for 16GB

damn you can buy 2 8gb iPhones with it and spend remaining $30 for reserving Powerbook G5
 
I hadn't realized that it included the January Update Applications...but i guess it makes sense since they January Upgrade wasn't available anymore.

Yes, mine sat there at that screen for 5-6 minutes before it finally moved on in the installer. I'm sitting at the restoring music and videos part right now...
 
Bravo Apple, this firmware update is around 8 hours ahead of schedule!

Oh wait, we're saturday now...

On a more serious note... I can't believe how the day went for everyone. Practically all the new things had problems/huge delays:
- iPhone 3G (activation problems, etc)
- 2.0 firmware (problems with servers)
- MobileMe (problems with servers)

The only thing that went smoothly was iTunes 7.7 and the iPhone/iPod touch apps, except the firmware itself.

More servers next time, Apple! More servers!

Oh come on, it's less than a day! Heck, it's still the day that they said it'd be released on! I'm all for bitching, but if people are pissed off they've waited so long because they have been sitting and clicking the refresh link since midnight last night and are pissed at apple that they've been firmware less for the 17 hours since it was officially the 11th... that's their own fault :)

I've been waiting too, but I'm not going to scream about it. Chill out, have a beer!
 
OK, it's downloading!!!!! I swear, if there is one bug with 2.0, I'll be on the phone bitching out some customer service representative! I've been up for almost 60 hours without even laying down waiting for Mobile Me and this, it had better be perfect Apple!

Crap, I accidentally cancelled the restore thinking it was restoring the old firmware.... d'oh! Can I just hit restore or do I have to check all my playlists and podcasts again?
 
any difference between this version and the one that was available for download for free?
