Well, if you wake to a steaming pile of metal and plastic on your desk in the morning, you'll have a definitive answer!![]()
Yeah, I used a CC once.
If you downloaded it the free way, will you still be able to get it the official way? And if so, how?
Same, this means I can't get 2.0 after waiting. Why stop accepting iTunes cards as a form of payment for a firmware update?
Just wasted my time buying a prepaid card today![]()

I have downloaded 2.0 and it is installing right now!
Has anybody had their iPod stuck with the "Preparing iPod Software for Restore" window in iTunes? It seems like it is taking forever right now, about 3 minutes, think it is normal?
Thanks!
iTunes cards are only for Music and Videos etc. Apple gift cards are different story. You could still use it to buy the Apps or Games.
That's what I did. I spend around $50 in the first hour until I had to lock away my credit card. Not nice Apple. All these eye candy apps make me wanna have them all. =)
thanksiLoveu
I've already paid twice as much for an update that didn't have as much. Apple doesn't deserve it from me, I deserve it from Apple.
So it could write over the old OS.Any ideas, as to why the update required the iPod to be wiped?

It's a major upgrade. As you should do with any major operating system upgrade, your should back up your files and install the OS from scratch for the best reliability.
Other than morality, do you think there is any benefit to get it directly from apple?
