Nice!!!

I guess Apple waited until most of the Apple and AT&T stores closed so the Server could breath.

Thank god its not $19.99 like last time. I think Apple feels little guilty after that little rip-off. ) Its ok :apple:

it worked.
im only loading applications, ill add my music and videos and pictures while i sleep.

I went to one of those coin changing machines and selected the option to get iTunes credit instead of Cash and used that to pay for the upgrade (and I got $52 left too, man loose changes adds up.. its like music to my ears :D)

Yeah, I used a CC once.

Yeah, I think the updated Terms requires that I have a CC associated with the account. This is going to be a pain, I have $15.27 on the account for reference. If anyone who hasn't ever used a credit card for iTunes gets through let me know please or Ill have to call.

When I click update, I get:
- Terms for 2.0 Update
- Then login to buy
- Then login to add payment method
- Then a billing screen, with the option of none
- Clicked none, returns me to iTunes Store

music?

Same, this means I can't get 2.0 after waiting. Why stop accepting iTunes cards as a form of payment for a firmware update?

Just wasted my time buying a prepaid card today :(

iTunes cards are only for Music and Videos etc. Apple gift cards are different story. You could still use it to buy the Apps or Games.

That's what I did. I spend around $50 in the first hour until I had to lock away my credit card. Not nice Apple. All these eye candy apps make me wanna have them all. =)

thanks:apple:iLoveu

I have downloaded 2.0 and it is installing right now!
Has anybody had their iPod stuck with the "Preparing iPod Software for Restore" window in iTunes? It seems like it is taking forever right now, about 3 minutes, think it is normal?
Thanks!

Yes, it is normal. It took me a while, too.

What's this about connecting to an itunes enabled computer with internet to get youtube? Fear me customer service representatives if this isn't fixed by a sync!!!

Don

Darn it, it still will not load, keep getting this "error 6" message halfway through the software load. Anyone else getting this? I'm hoping it is something similar to what was happening to the iPhone earlier due to server traffic?!?!! Any recommendations?

Makes sense I guess, I just assumed it was for the entire store.

It's a major upgrade. As you should do with any major operating system upgrade, your should back up your files and install the OS from scratch for the best reliability.

Any ideas, as to why the update required the iPod to be wiped?

Don

Taken down again...

Thanks that does make sense. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

I've also been getting this error (6) about 21% in (according to the iPod Updater logs in Console):

Any ideas? I've been banging my head at this all day. I also tried restoring it with 1.1.4 and 2.0. Only 1.1.4 works.

I already had the unofficial update from earlier today. So I clicked Buy Now on iTunes, I agreed to the terms, then I got a "your update is done" page. Nothing had happened except for the $10 being charged. But I looked at my iPod and the youtube error is gone, and the issue I was having with Mail recognizing my account is fixed too. The Apps I downloaded earlier are still there too.
