ah - another dystopian setting for our entertainment - isnt the world lovely
i'll pass on this one

I liked many of Apple's shows. I disliked this one intensely. The production was great, first-rate, but that first battle scene, yeah no. Could not suspend disbelief.
firs
Yeah, it took me several episodes to get over the unbelievableness of it, but I did, and I ended up really enjoying it.
Overall a decent show but requires such a high level of "suspension of disbelief" that sometimes it is jarring.

You don’t have to suspend disbelief. Not only are there plenty of mammals that exist today that have evolved heightened alternate senses to live in places without light and some without eyes at all, but there are actual humans who have demonstrated echolocation and are as proficient at identifying the world around them as those of us with sight.

Over hundreds of years, as the majority of the world’s population vanishes because of a global sudden loss of sight, those that remained were the ones capable of using their alternative senses, and those bred from them not only inherited those traits but were born into a world designed for them from birth. This is evolution 101.

Relieved that this got a second season - it was very quiet about whether it would be coming back for a long time. I find the suspension of disbelief hilarious given the success of GoT, the Witcher, Lord of the Rings, Spongebob Squarepants. There are a huge amount of shows where our current science don't exist and they are great.

Right? Can’t believe in scientifically well understood evolution but dragons and ghosts and Elves, yeah… that’s cool.

This I believe (think I’ve even read about it or seen it on TV ages ago).

This I do not believe. Do you have a link to a documentary about one or something? Be an interesting watch either way.

I should have KNOWN that a forum called MacRumors.com would have the biggest army of people who hate all things awesome, than probably any site on the internet.
This show was extremely entertaining to me.
It gave the Game of Thrones vibe, but kept the multiple family stories to a minimum, and all those who made the stupid comment, "Suspended Disbelief" ON COME ON, it's a fantasy tv show!!!
Have YOU even lived as a blind person?
People just love to hate.
I guess it makes you all feel cool.
