I would use 14.7 beta because it expands optional frame rate match settings of DV/HD/SDR. Not like its has any real issues.Great, now release 14.7 because I, like a proper moron, updated to the beta instead of doing a full reset. And now I cant until they release GM 14.7.
Same here. The update failed twice on my ATV 4K, but I tried it for the third time, it passed. Two of my Apple TVs failed while preparing update. Trying again!
It’s weird. One of my 4K (5th Gen) models had no problem. One 4th Gen and another 5th Gen both failed out.Same here. The update failed twice on my ATV 4K, but I tried it for the third time, it passed.
Technically they said over 20,000 songs, so they are correct! 🤣It’s going to be 20 million songs supporting lossless at launch, not 20,000![]()
What do you mean optional? Couldn’t you match frame rate before with those?I would use 14.7 beta because it expands optional frame rate match settings of DV/HD/SDR. Not like its has any real issues.
It's called Dolby Atmos.Spatial Audio for Apple Music is all well and good, but will tvOS support Spatial Audio for movies and TV shows?
Everything is updated here now It took longer than expected because I also updated my external install of Catalina to the latest security updates. Being on a spinning drive, makes updates slower, while normal use, is pretty much OK.Ditto here, also in Florida. I checked on the Apple TV’s we have.
Edit: 2 minutes after posting it showed up
Which isn't helpful when you are watching TV with AirPods. It's called Dolby Atmos.
No. Doesn’t have the right tech built into the Apple TV’s unfortunately. That would be my favorite request that it worked.Spatial Audio for Apple Music is all well and good, but will tvOS support Spatial Audio for movies and TV shows?
That's what I was so excited about when Spatial Audio on the Airpods Pro was first announced. I wanted to watch a movie with surround sound on my airpods. I was really disappointed when it was only for iphone/ipad. Hopefully this allows it.Which isn't helpful when you are watching TV with AirPods.
Such a huge missed opportunity. From my understanding, don't the headphones just need to "know" where they are in relation to the screen? I assumed the accelerometers in the iOS devices make that possible, but surely there's a way to fake it with Apple TV -- hell, I'd even park my phone next to my Apple TV if the ATV could piggyback off the iPhone's sensors somehow.No. Doesn’t have the right tech built into the Apple TV’s unfortunately. Yes, exactly, thanks -- that was the point of my question which I didn't manage to specify.Which isn't helpful when you are watching TV with AirPods.
Over three generations of Apple TV, none of mine has ever updated all by itself, even though I always enable the option.Even when you turn automatic updates on on Apple TV, it seems to take a long time for it ever do it all by itself.
I like to always do manual updates, even with automatic enabled just to make sure it's done, and everything goes as expected. Letting it do it automatically could either lead to cases where, like you said it doesn't happen on it's own, or something goes wrong, and you could end up with a mess that could have been avoided doing it manually in the first place.Over three generations of Apple TV, none of mine has ever updated all by itself, even though I always enable the option.
I've never had a problem with Apple TV updates. Anyway, why have the option if it doesn't work?I like to always do manual updates, even with automatic enabled just to make sure it's done, and everything goes as expected.
