If you guys are wondering: The firmware of my remote got bumped from 0x0060 to 0x0061.
So if you see 0x006 it received the update!

I think he's saying that the remote controls the Sonos soundbar volume, but only in incredibly small increments. I have the same issue with my Apple TV remote and Sonos Beam. You need to hit the button about 5 times to make an appreciable difference in volume, whereas my Harmony universal remote volume control makes much larger adjustments to volume per button press.Ok, so another user gave me the solution:
you have to teach the Apple TV what the IR commands are for your particular sound bar. It's a very unintuitive process, but it does work:
- open settings
- Go to Remotes and Devices, then under the heading Home Cinema Control you will find Volume Control
- Open this setting and press "Learn New Device"
- now use the remote that came with your sound bar to "teach" the Apple TV the IR commands.
Save the settings and then try again. Your Siri Remote should know now how to control the Sound bar.
Yes and I'm saying my sound bar had the same issue, until I fixed it with this "fix". So I was only offering a possible solution. If it doesn't work, then nothing lost, but if it works then great right? For me it did!I think he's saying that the remote controls the Sonos soundbar volume, but only in incredibly small increments. AppleTV settings —> remotes and devices —> remoteI'm sorry, where would you even find what firmware your remote is using?
Outlet on the bottom. Lightning plug to USB cable, to wall USB plug.
No you'll only be able to tell the same way you found out it had 6% by going into the settingsfully charged will it light up green or something?

Does your light switch seem snappier now?I had to update the firmware on my light switches a few weeks ago.
I was wondering too. Perhaps the light is finally moving at the speed of light? lolDoes your light switch seem snappier now?![]()
I‘ve so wanted to buy the new Remote but can’t see shelling what, $60, for it. Maybe $20. I wonder if I can find a used one on eBay….I stopped using the new Remote and went back to the old one because the new one kept randomly disconnecting eve while in the middle of using it… also the volume buttons are so much clickier and noisier, kinda annoying when you are trying to adjust sound during a movie
Mine says 0x0061 🧐And I found it there smh Settings>Remotes and devices>Remote
but mine just lists 0x0060
Not sure why mine is still showing 0x0060 even after my siri remote has been fully charged to 100 percentMine says 0x0061 🧐
brunerd isn’t using his anymore, perhaps you can arrange something… 😏I‘ve so wanted to buy the new Remote but can’t see shelling what, $60, for it. Maybe $20. I wonder if I can find a used one on eBay….
Could this explain why, over the last couple of weeks, the battery life of my remote has plummeted catastrophically? Like, it went from hardly ever needing to be charged to very suddenly draining to 10% within a few days after a full charge.Apple has not detailed how to install a firmware update for the Siri Remote, but it's likely similar to AirPods, delivered silently and over the air while the Apple TV is asleep. Firmware updates are installed in the background and it may take some time for the Siri Remote update to be downloaded and installed.
The Oral B iO series of electric toothbrushes have firmware updates 😂Haha, firmware update for a rather standard remote, how far have we come....
Could be worse though, firmware for a drinking bottle, or a toothbrush.
Edit: Seems like my comment is misunderstood, by standard remote I meant just a slightly dumb device, an iPhone/PC/TV and the like needs much more complicated firmware.
