And simple minds have to share thoughts. /s

Maybe but even simpler ones read them AND then comment, so I'm ahead of you there. Ha. Ha.

But the post wasn't merely to share thoughts, it was to h/t the poster who I unwittingly trampled on. It's called courtesy, you know.

Yeah well I wouldnt "take that to the bank" as there are often times when there are loads of folks with an issue/bug and Apple reps state for each user that theirs is the first they have heard of it. Even tho the interwebz is full of articles with users having those complaints. Apple employees dont have access to the internet or their database of reported issues apparently :)

Very good point. Agreed.

All in all its just another brick in the wall :D
Nice sentence from that decade. Who said that? Applies to everything. Wonder if Drumphf is going to use it to become another drone Republican president. BTW the last non-drone Republican president was Nixon!

O.T.
I said me didn't I, did I hit a nerve, not my intention.
I have 30 tabs open now, and that is fairly normal, can't remember when Safari crashed on me, it's rare (for me and others so it seems) Safari crashes or has spinning balls.
I have been using OS X since 10.0b, and Safari was indeed not so stable before, but it is by far the best and stable browser there is now.
You might have some extensions installed which destabilize Safari, turn them of if that is the case, if that doesn't help try resetting Safari and start anew.
Easiest way to know if it is more stable with a clean start is to create a new user and open Safari there, if it is more stable you have something going on in your normal User Account.
Hope you can fix it.

No you didn't hit a nerve at all. I just don't see how saying a program works for you discounts the NUMEROUS complaints from a multitude of users [on this forum and the apple support] in regards to the poor performance of safari on el captian.

I did sadly re-install OS X and it didn't help. I ended up just downgrading and everything is working beautifully now except notes [as its upgraded but I've moved to notability now anyway].

It wasn't really a jab btw at you and sorry if it came across as that.

I just think its illustrative of apple recently. A fairly common complaint with safari, affecting a multitude of users, and they don't really offer any concrete response or solution. Maybe this is a by-product of yearly updating an OS X but either way, it should really be addressed IMO and isn't.

Apple used to be the OS/company that did NOT have such issues! What is happening to Apple?

A decade ago now, Vista was the savior of Microsoft! We all know that debacle.

Is Apple/Mac heading there, from arrogance? Is 9.3.2 going to brick iPhones soon? That is a lot of phones in the USA.

Either Steve comes back or Cook wakes up. I have Apple stocks and products Tim - do something.

Google, of Steve Jobs most favorite, is kicking you, not just abroad, but even in the USA.

9.3.2 has already been out for some time for iPhones and hasn't done anything to them.

unfortunately it took 5 days to fix the problem between going to an apple store with no appointment then waiting for them to get a replacement in stock. i've learned my lesson, no more updating the first week. sounds draconian but in the post-pc era you can't have the manufacturer bricking it's own devices.
I had a bad experiencing getting my iPad fixed from the bad update as well. Since I purchased the iPad through apples family and friends program they weren't able to return my iPad and give me a new one. Instead, they sent me an hour away to another store to get s replacement.

I was hoping it might fix some problems with widgets on the 9.7. The battery indicator for the pencil disappears even while still connected so you can't see how much battery the pencil has left or when it's full. Also, existing widgets disappeared and are no longer available to be added. I can add one not previously added and it does show up.

I was only able to fix be resetting all settings but it happened again and seems the same after the update.

Anyone else?

I'm hoping for a fix to the missing keyboard layout selector for external keyboards. It is just not there in 9.3.1. Japanese users of external Bluetooth keyboards have complained about this, but I've seen no comment from Apple.

FWIW, I just updated my iPad Pro 9.7 32GB Wi-Fi only OTA. It took ten minutes or so, and there was no problem. I'll check the keyboard issue out later.

No way I'm touching this for a week or so.

There are so many good things about Tim Cooke's Apple. And it's great the hardware is still second to none. But software is crap now that Steve is gone, and it is software that will be Apple's undoing.

zzzzzzz, boring. Steve is gone, just let it go.

Also mobile me says hello

I agree - but there's a flaw here: let's say most of us start to resist updating promptly. That doesn't make it more safe - it just means that it will take longer for anyone to believe the update is bricking people. We can just hope there's enough naive people out there who just say yes to an OS update and act as a guinea pig. IMO, apple should do more explicit beta testing.

On the desktop side, I always wait at a minimum for the x.3 version - and usually by the x.6 version the OS is pretty stable. But on the iOS side, they're so much more pushy.

Just updated my 128gb wi-fi OTA
It looked as if all was going well but when it restarted I had no icons on the first screen.
One reboot fixed it. All well now but this is the very first time an update didn't go completely smoothly for me (iPad user since iPad 2)

Updated my 128 GB cellular 9.7 iPad Pro using the wired iTunes update mechanism. No issues during the software download or the update. After the new OS was loaded, the iPad had me re-log in to iCloud and set up Hey Siri, but no problems. All seems to be working normally.

I have 128gb wifi/cellular 9.7 pro and I cannot update. It says there is one there I hit install and a few seconds later I get a message saying it couldn't verify update because I was not connected to the Internet. My connection is fine, everything else works. I tried cellular too for the update to verify but get same thing.

Guess I'll have to try through iTunes??

Is it possible you still have the old update on your iPad? Try deleting the download and starting your update from scratch.
