I'm still wondering. My iPad Pro works fine without the update. ::shrug::
No. There are three options;I'd love to know what the root of the problem was. I updated my 9.7 Pro the first time around, without a problem. I didn't do it OTA, I did it by wire.
Why only this one device, and what exactly was getting stuck?
You do realize that those two situations aren't contradictory, right? With the number of devices out there, each configured differently, it's quite possible for there to be a problem that millions of users don't encounter but which Apple still needs to address.
That's the challenge in testing stuff like this-- there is no way to test all the scenarios.
I hadn't seen anyone say "it must be you" to someone who had their device bricked, I suspect you're adding that bit for color.

Also a lot of security updates that are under the hood. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206568
Those aren't discrete options, so if you think they are you're misinterpreting what people are saying.No. There are three options;
The point that I’m sure you saw is that they deny there is a problem with the device and then never acknowledge the subsequent fix.
- It must be you…….
- It must be the hardware…..
- It must be the software…….
