Swipe to change watch face has a rather obvious bug - when the face is changed it always resets to 10:09pm before adjusting to the correct time!
I don't think this is a bug, and it existed in the awkward press and switch mode, too. When pressed, the clock face also switched to 10:09 until you pressed again. The reason is explained in https://www.businessinsider.com/why-apple-watches-all-display-1009-in-advertisments-2015-3 Other watch makers also set the watches to similar times, so that the entire watch face (including numerals) can be seen. Most set it to 10:10.

Apple today released watchOS 10.2, the newest version of the watchOS 10 operating system that was released in September. watchOS 10.2 comes over a month after watchOS 10.1, a major update that brought Double Tap support, NameDrop, and more.

‌watchOS 10‌‌.2 can be downloaded for free through the Apple Watch app on an iPhone running iOS 17 or later by opening it up and going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery and it needs to be placed on a charger.

The watchOS 10.2 update adds support for using Siri to access and record data in the Health app on the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Users can ask Siri questions like "How did I sleep last night?" or "How many steps have I taken this week?"

Health data can be added to the Health app through Siri as well with statements like "My weight is 195.3 pounds," or "I've taken my 6:00 p.m. medications." This is functionality that Apple announced with the launch of the newest Apple Watch models, and it is limited to these devices as they are the only Apple Watches that support on-device Siri processing.

watchOS 10.2 also reintroduces an option to swipe to change the Apple Watch face, a feature that was removed in watchOS 10 and has been missed by some. Apple's full release notes for the update are below.
More information on the features in watchOS 10 can be found in our watchOS 10 roundup.

Does the update also include „Enable the ability to remember most recent app used in Settings“? I updated to the previous version just recently and since then an app request put me to the top of the app list. I also miss being able to swipe to access the screen with the iPhone ping funtion.

Still doesn't fix raise to use Siri. Hasn’t been working since 10.0. It will work once, and then never work again until the setting is toggled off and on. Well that's how it was in 10.1. Seems completely broken now.

Hope 10.2 fixes the 80% max charge on my Series 8 Watch.
Use to turn on each night since OS 10 was released but after with the revisions it just suddenly stopped and every night its been charging to 100% :/

I noticed that. The conspiratorial part of my brain is saying: Bait and switct and apple is trying to whittle our batteries down quicker… 😛

hiding that switch for re-enabling the face swipe in the clock settings on the watch itself, what is that? Easter eggs normally are not listed in release notes or change logs.

If I wake up a few minutes early it asks me if I am getting up for the day. Otherwise I just turn off Sleep Focus manually. You can ask Siri to do that too.
Sometimes it recognizes I'm up, other times it doesn't. And the area in settings to turn it off manually is sometimes missing. The only way I've figured out how to do it manually is by going on my phone, unlocking, locking, then tapping focus on and then off again... which is ridiculous. Also, asking the watch to do it via Siri gives me the "Sorry, I can't do that" response. The whole thing is aggravating.

I'm really hoping the battery drain has been fixed. Watch OS 10 has been horrible! Has anyone on the beta had positive results?
I’m easily getting a day and a half - 2 days of battery on my Hermes Series 4 AW so the battery life has been great on my end

The workout ending was super annoying. I'm not sure why a change was needed now after so many years but I certainly don't need an idiot-proof button for something I clearly pushed.
I don't like that either, however not being able to lock the watch down in workout mode is as bad. I use to use that all the time. Now I've not only managed to end a workout, but have also managed to pass the nanny confirmation message as well. 😂

Does 10.2 make the weather app easier to read? Similar to how it was under Watch OS 9?
I hope so. The current color choices are horrendous. Attempting to read a white font on a light blue/light tan background before my eyes adjust to waking up is about the dumbest interface design I can think of.

It's very stupidly placed - Settings - Clock - Swipe to Switch Watch face
Which can’t be done in the Watch app on iPhone it seems, which is ridiculous. In general there are too many settings only available in the watch settings that aren’t available in the watch app.

Strange indeed, it wasn’t like this in watchos 9 was it? Really disruptive but perhaps that will be fixed with following updates. Let’s be „happy“ for now swipe to change is back at all after the OS and UI overlords decided they new better.

Yet again, a watchOS update takes longer than any other device. Half an hour 'preparing' and then another twenty minutes to actually install.

  • Enable the ability to confirm ending workouts in Settings
Another “feature” reversal. It was so stupid to have to confirm ending a workout. I started using Siri to end my workouts, first time ever using Siri on a regular basis for me
Chill, it’s an option you can turn on or off in settings. Options aren’t something to complain about. Let’s be happy it’s not just another mandatory change for everyone because someone in the dev team wanted it because themselves like it is soo often with apple.

Yeah but where’s the problem with that? I’d rather have it be proper and work instead of fast and flaky and have it break the watch just to send it in.
If there were any big improvement of life or groundbreaking features and you don’t have the time to update your watch say in the morning before leaving that’d be inconvenient, but I don’t think that was the case here. At least the installation process isn’t taking too long.
