Favourite new feature so far - unlocking my MacBook Air with my Watch.

Yes!

It took some doing to get it enabled for me. I was getting an error message on my Mac saying that I needed to disable "two-step authentication" and enable "two-factor authentication" (they are different). Here are the steps for anyone that has the same issue:
  1. Go to https://appleid.apple.com
  2. Under Security, turn off Two-Step Authentication
  3. On your Mac, navigate to Settings > iCloud > Account Details > Security
  4. Turn on Two-Factor Authentication
  5. In System Preferences > Security & Privacy > check Allow your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac
Now when you wake your Mac, it will say "Unlocking with Apple Watch...". You'll get a notification with taptic alert on your watch so that you know it was unlocked.

The future!

Took a little over 2 1/2 hours, but finally got it done! Keep pausing and saying it would restart when wifi connected; wifi was always connected. Guess the servers are just overwhelmed! Now learning and deciding which apps to put in the dock.

I have it installed and not happy with it, the old way of moving between apps "left and right" swipes now changes watch faces, what they heck are they thinking, this totally stinks

For any of you who have managed to successfully upgrade , can you post the build number please (Settings/General/Ab out in Watch App), I am trying to find out if there was any change from WatchOS3 GM....

Many thanks in advance,

Adam

What was I thinking? I NEVER update my Watch the first day. But I was in my studio and I have a Watch charger and I'd updated my phone and decided to risk the vagaries of the university network.

2.5 hours later it's done and I feel so . . . current. It's a good thing I didn't have any place I had to go. And I did get a lot of work done while checking various progress bars. (90 minutes of the time was downloading and verifying the update; the other hour was installing and then doing whatever that process is--updating apps?--where the progress circle begins again on the Watch.)

over the past 5 hours I have restarted the watch three times, no update
deleted the beta profile on phone, no update
restarted the phone three times, no update
airport mode on/off, no update

(iOS10 on iPhone 6 is very poor, constant screen lock ups, screen unresponsive. I have restarted three times to unfreeze the phone as much as get it to recognise an update for the watch).

Apple must be getting hammered by all these update requests.

I managed to do get it installing:
The step I overlooked was deleting the beta profile on the watch as well as on the phone.
Rebooted twice, updating. Started with two hours to go, now down to one.

It's gonna be a long night.

ok found the issue.
I had the beta profile installed on the watch too. I was unaware of that, though I do recall trying to install the beta.
removed the profile restarted the watch (again) and 3.0 is now available to download.

I have gotten the "Unable to verify update" twice now after it started downloading. Haven't seen anyone post about this yet...
Any ideas?

The auto-unlock feature was the one thing I waited most fervently for with the combined iOS, watchOS and Sierra updates.

It doesn't work at all. Not even a little.

Updated my iPhone 6s and iPad Pro to iOS 10 no problem. Have spent the past hour or so stuck on "Preparing" for the watchOS update. The progress bar goes all the way, then back to preparing. WTF?

Finally done, delayed my morning gym visit by 2h!

But to my surprise, the first thing I see is this (and the watch is connected to the original cable it came with!)

I doubt it can sense that the original cable sits in a 3rd party wooden cradle ...

This OS update is the obvious result of a lot of real world testing and feedback. Virtually every interface is improved and launching is so much better. I have a normal face and a workout face. The dock is a much better use for the power button.

The only downside for Apple is that the sluggishness making me consider upgrading is no longer an issue.

Confessed version of this story:
More useless garbage has been squeezed out by the fool in charge of Apple.
Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

Worked the first time for me hasn't work since.

why must a ~560MB file be downloaded over wi-fi?
I'd be happy to over-ride that and use some of the 15GB remaining on my plan today.
